Heat Networks Back Billing
hi, I own a 1 bed flat that’s part of a heat network. Managing agents are Rendall and Rittner. Bills have been issued periodically over the last 10 years and are settled in full on time.
Come 2025 and now 2026 and I am getting ‘back bills’ dating back to 2015 to the tune of several hundred £’s. The reason given for the back billing are unclear, but involv admin errors There are 798 flats on the network each getting proportional back bills.
Offgem are banning the practice of back billing for more than 12m but not til 2027! Upshot is the Wild West of billing and not hearing complaints.

There was a recent thread from someone who took their managing agent to Tribunal and it was ruled that they couldn't increase heat network prices retrospectively.
I can't search for it right now but you might want to look for the thread; it might help you.

Can't find the thread either (one day this forum's search function will more than sub-optimal), but the tribunal decision was reported on in the Guardian at the start of the month

Why start another thread when you have already posted this in the long running thread where you say they have agreed to waive the charges from 2015-20?
