Utilita Smart Energy Tariff Inaccuracy on MSE Energy Club
I have a very low usage Electricity account (150 kwh/yr) & Utilita is coming up as by far the cheapest so I have clicked through to their website & found that although MSE displays this as a 'direct debit' possible tariff, Utilita application for the tariff does not allow this. Instead, the Utilita website only permits…

Supplier not listed on MSE Cheap Energy Club
I am asked to name my current supplier, but on the dropdown list or around 30 suppliers my one (Rebel Energy) is not listed. I have been with them for over a year at this address. Why might that be and how can I resolve it?

British Gas Historical Debt
Hi, Just want to check where I stand from those who know more. We were looking to switch and discovered yy mother in law (just her in a 2 bed terraced house), had a debt with British Gas of £650. I've had a look back through her bills and it seems this has been lingering since her Nov-22 to May-23 bill with Bills and DDs…

Solar panels and combi boiler
Hi Like many people I fitted a combi boiler and it works fine. I’m now thinking about solar panels. If I fit a hot water tank I can use the excess solar electricity to heat the water. Could I then feed this into the combi boiler? If the water is already hot presumably it won’t get heated further by the boiler, but if it…

Changing name on a FIT account with British Gas due to bereavement
Does anybody have experience trying to change the name on a British Gas account which is used to handle the payments for electricity generated by solar panels. My Dad recently passed away, my mum and he owned everything jointly, but the FIT account at BG only allows for one name to be used, they chose to use Dad. Now my…

Micro User - Lazy Energy Company
Our micro not for profit have been getting estimated bills from EON for more than 2 years. They cant be bothered to read the meter. They are now taking us to Court for over £6,000 based on the estimated bills. The bills have not been right since Feb 2023. Where do we stand on the 'back-billing' rules?

British Gas Homecare
Had to log into the BG site and became aware of the 'Spring Sale' . Price comparisons refer to 'Essential, Classic, and Complete'. When I renewed last October it was still 'Homecare 2, 3 etc.' and the price I paid was significantly more expensive that the examples give. Has BG renamed the Homecare packages

Door knock : energy tariff advice giver turns into phone snatch and police called

Electricity (Only) fix coming to an end - where next?
Hi there, My EDF Electricity tariff comes to an end in March. I'm looking at options. I can fix for either 12 or 18 months for around £6 per month cheaper with Fuse or £4 per month cheaper with EON (fixed for 16 months). All have £50 early exit fees. It looks as though I may be able to get £21 cashback with Topcashback for…

Octopus Intelligent Go- Fixing
Having moved onto one of the beta apps for EV's, I am presuming that having the benefit of off peak charging rates and slots stops the account holder from fixing the tariff. So yes, give with one hand by take with the other. That said, there are sooooooo many tariffs they offer, I may have missed the option.

Should I use immersion heater or gas boiler for hot water with solar panels?
Now we're getting more sunshine B) , my panels are producing excess energy so I wonder if we should be using immersion heater (we have a pressurised cylinder) instead of gas boiler to heat up our water tank? I'm with Octopus Flux: excess is sold back to grid at 13p kWh and gas is 5.9p kWh so presumably it's cheaper to use…
