thankyou. Thats given me food for thought
no my budget would not allow for a increase. Were only just getting by now as it is.

Heat, light and water are priority bills, so something else in the budget is going to have to give to allow any unavoidable increases to be covered.
I would suggest that you visit the link in my signature below, complete the Statement Of Affairs then head to the Debt Free Wannabe board and start a new thread there where people will be able to help spot savings you might not have thought of. Best to tackle things now if everything has got to the point of being barely manageable.(Edited due to woeful typos!)

BG Have a new fixed tariff for me at 29.15 per kw and standing charge 44p and is fixed for 12 months.
My present tariff with them is 21.84 and 44p. Fixed until Aug 26.
Difficult call but will stay put!0 -
you don’t need to have debt - we’ll happily help with squeaky tight budgets as well. The problem is, if things are that tight now, it only takes one unexpected and unforeseen bill and you will end up with debt - and then of course there is no money to pay it off so things can spiral!
The SOA is super helpful even if you do yearn to post it because it will let you see how your current budget stacks up against income. Often people find that the SOA shows a surplus they just don’t have - and that is a great starting point to find where that “missing” money is going!

Many around the DFW do not have any debt & want things to stay that way. I've never had any debt other than a mortgage & am quite comfortable there.
