Octopus Home Mini
My Octopus Home Mini is working fine at the moment. But I am planning to get a new router so will have to change the wifi set up on the Mini.
There are plenty of instructions on how to set the Mini back to factory default, but I haven't been able to find any details on how just to move it to another network.
Do I have to go to factory reset and start again from the beginning, or is there a simple way to change the network? Obviously, I can put my phone on the relevant network first, even if I later move the phone to another network.

Alternatively just set the new network equipment’s SSID and passphrase to match the current network.

Definitely the way to do it. I've had the same wifi network name since my first one in 2001.

I've so many devices that use WiFi, not making the new router look like the old one would be madness.

I wasn't sure that would work. Thanks. In fact the Mini and my phone are the only items that use wifi, as my flat has ethernet wiring all over, so I've tended to use the name given by my router. But changing the router's network name seems a good idea.

I changed my Wi-Fi password recently.
Seem to remember configuring the Octopus mini was pretty trivial.
Just go into the Octopus App → devices and follow the instructions.

FoIt turns out that there are two different places in the phone app that are named Devices. One doesn't show the Mini, the pother does and gives instructions on how to change wifi network

It's still easier to update the router. As long as you have a computer with an ethernet port this is safe to do because it doesn't affect the router's login password[s].
Even if you don't want to reuse your existing settings, I'd still advise setting a permanent SSID for next time, when you may have more devices. If you set a memorable name, it makes it much easier to pick it out of a list.
