How to use annual gas heating kwh to work out the equivalent for electric heating
I have gas central heating and have my estimated annual usage in kwh on my bill. How do I convert it to understand what the annual usage would be if my heating was electric? I am looking for an approximate ballpark figure based on generic electric heating, not heat pumps or anything like that.

Setting New Price & Moving Home
Good morning all, I am hoping I am not too late now to set up a new price before the new prices come in to play on the 1st April - could someone please confirm? We are moving house this year, likely in the next 3 months. If we move, does that new price stay with me as a customer, or does it stay with the property? Has…

Problems with Smart Meter
I have had an Aclara SGM1415-B Smart meter for several years and, up to now, it has worked OK. The meter originally supplied the house with electricity on two circuits. One for the storage room heaters and th stored hot water heater and the second circuit for the rest of the house. Initially the storage heaters only had…

Octopus Points
Just like any energy company their energy saving events are a sham. They pay me around 100 "octopoints" for every kWh saved. Sounds impressive until you want to redeem them and find out the points are are pracrically worthless. My 1800 octopoints accrued so far by sitting in the cold and dark are worth just £1.34! Why did…

Beware Price quoted for EDF Electricity in the Cheap Energy Club
I have just transferred my energy supply to EDF as the Cheap Energy Club stated I would save money. Unfortunately price per unit quoted on the Cheap Energy club information is 23p kWH and the actual price at transfer is 29p per kWH. Just checked and it still shown as 23p on the Cheap energy Club. This has increased my…

Back Billing PAYG
I was a payg electricity customer from 2003. For about 15 years the meter could not be updated with new prices. The meter started accumulating debt. After a few years I contacted them and the debt was written off. In March 2021 they stopped sending\creating statements completely. No account was available/accessible online…

Is this an RTS meter - I am not on a dual fuel tariff
The house was built in the 80s and had economy 7. No storage heaters ever. Combi boiler. I contacted Octopus a few years ago and went onto a normal single tariff. I definitely do not use economy 7. I have that in writing from octopus. I do t want economy 7 as I use very little at night. But the meter does have day and…

Claiming compo after being hassled for an energy debt you obviously didn’t owe?
After setting debt collectors after me, the energy firm soon admitted the debt wasn’t mine, & didn’t even relate to the property I’d been living in. During our exchanges they opened up a complaint in my name in order to freeze the debt enforcement process. And then announced it had been resolved when they admitted it…

Cashback if you're signing up to EDF's Simply Fixed or Simply Tracker tariff
I know this tariff has been mentioned quite a bit recently. I'm already with EDF and have decided to go with Simply Fixed because it's a decent rate and has no exit fees. I wasn't expecting TopCashback to have any kind of deals on signing up to it but they're offering £50 (dual fuel) and £25 (single fuel) cashback to new…
