They haven't got the decency to wait until April when the "150" comes off. I suppose it was only a matter of time

21.5GW of solar plus other generation regularly dwarfs current summer demand.

Ofgems own wholesale rate in the 6-7p rwnge late last summer / early autumn despite wind CfDs adding c1p/kWh to ave cost.

grid solar in ar7 got around 6.5p/ kWh CfD strike price. But of course need to adc tge network costs.

    Hardly surprising export rates dropping.

Id maybe expect more at lesdt ijnnext few years - as GW more solar and wind even at 40% style load factors - getting added faster than grid summer demand over last couple of years.

    So, import rates falling too?

Going to get tough on those who installed shed loads of batteries to benefit from tomeshifting, if the margin isn't maintained

have they dropped their non tied seg only rate.

    have others ?

I was surprised by the big was it 15p to iirc 4.1p differential. Even EOn were offering iirc c6p on non tied SEG ?

Given other Ofgem changes its likely unit rates wont drop the full 3.54p from budget changes assuming really happening in time, just whd £20 if at 2700kWh reduces by 0.7p iirc my maths for recent post.

cannot see a CI last before forecadt yet - the one from Dec didnt include tgd WHD sgift in its split for SC vs unit rates in thd reduced £1620 figure - a £138 drop - but did include for budget move to tax change

given Ofgem cap out on 25th - should we be due their last beford prediction imminently ?

Those with batteries can export at even higher prices in the evening peak.

A drop to 12p is better than I was expecting, bearing in mind what EDF and Eon have cut their anytime export rates.

23 panels on my roof, no battery

    Last year I exported 5200kwh

This change will cost me £150/yr

I've never paid more for electricity, standing charge used to be around 23p and is now I think 68p

    Ridiculous.

Why don't you move to another supplier/customer who pays more if you are not happy?

They have had the `decency' not to have reduced it sooner when they really could have justified doing so.

    12p is still very good.

I will if there's a better option, waiting for the dust to settle. This announcement literally just came through like an hour ago for me.

However I can still be annoyed at the ridiculous mishandling of the energy situation.

The whole point of the increase in standing charge was to cover the energy crisis bankruptcies. That debt has been completely paid off for a while now but no reduction in standing charge - it has only gone up.

Labour promising a reduction in energy bills, but my bill has gone up £150 from this alone.

No, that is not how the standing charge works.

Your bill has not gone up, your income has gone down, that is a little different.

Reducing what you get paid for your electricity that you export may actually help the government in delivering what they promised!
