Solar panels, FIT payments, MINFO tool, Suppliers Web???

My Solar panels were installed in October 2011. Since that time I have sent my meter readings every 90 days to Scottish Power and have received payment directly into my bank account. I recently switched banks and though almost everything went smoothly, the process involved in getting Scottish Power to recognise the new bank was ridiculously complicated, involving form filling, providing statements form my new bank etc.
I thought I had completed everything after receiving an email on the 11th. Feb. from Scottish Power telling me that my bank details had been successfully amended.
However this proved to be optimistic and sure enough on the 22nd. Feb. I received an email from "suppliersweb@scottishpower.com" headed "Minfo Registration Invitation".
It reads as follows....

Dear Supplier,

Welcome. You have been set as Scottish Power supplier.

Please access the “Minfo” tool in order to complete the registration process using the following link: https://www.iberdrola.com/webprovc/register/register.action

With this tool, you can also request changes to modify general data or review information regarding purchase orders, invoices or payments.

Please, request your supplier number to your Scottish Power contact. This number will be required in order to finish your registration.

Regards

I have never had contact with "Suppliers Web" before, however I do get constant scam phone calls about my Solar panels and I'm disinclined to proceed with this until I'm satisfied that
a) It's kosher.
and
b) It's necessary.

  • Hi did you ever sort this , I've not been paid be Scottish Power for my export fit readings now for 6 months .
I'm on the phone every week and send numerous emails but yet I still can't get any payment from them what they owe me .
There wanting me to enter my details that they have already had since 2014 onto the iberdrola portal minfo and it's absolutely impossible to do this , I've tried alsorts but it just won't alter or confirm my details.
I'm just going around in circles with them and it's very very frustrating.
One email from Sofia at sp asked for picture proof of my building society bank book but that was weeks ago , still no response.

Iberdrola is the parent company of Scottish power so that isn't a scam web address
Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.
  • I have been receiving FIT payments from Scottish Power since 2011.  I changed my bank in January this year and have been trying ever since to get them to update my details.  It is impossible to get through to a real person and emails go unanswered.  Despite an automated response thanking me for my email and promising a reply "within 2 working days"  I have still not received a reply from my email dated 26th June!  I have tried to engage with the web chat but just end up going round in circles as the AI obviously does not understand what I am trying to tell it.  Any ideas?

  • I signed up for Scottish Power's SEG in March at 12p/kWh and am expecting my first export payment in September. I have now been asked to register for Iberdrola's MINFO system in order to receive payments. The request came with 13 pages of guidance notes, much of which is almost illegible as it is poor quality screen shots. I have now spent 2 hours failing to register as the process is unbelievably complicated. I suspect it is a deliberate plot to avoid export payments by forcing the claimant to give up!
  • Why would there be "a deliberate plot to avoid export payments"?

    As always, Hanlon's razor applies.
  • Somehow managed to register on the portal but now stuck on entering my bank details. Been asked to attach a 'CERTIFICADO BANCARIO' despite the guide stating that this is only required for spanish accounts! Attached a redacted copy of a bank statement but just had an email rejecting this.

Have sent several emails asking for help but no reply.

Has anyone had success with this and can help please?

I am in the same position as you. Have been with them since March. I think I've completed the Iberdrola registration back in June but have heard nothing from them and now can't log back in. It just keeps asking me for an ID card or passport number. The webchat is totally useless and they won't give me a phone number to speak to anyone. I don't know how or when I'm supposed to send meter readings or how and when I will get any payments.
I used to be with Ovo and it was so simple. They sent me an email once a quarter with a link to give a meter reading then the money appeared in my account a few weeks later.
  • My 83 year old father had solar panels installed by Scottish power in June and is with Scottish power for his electricity supplier. I have been managing things on his behalf. I have received his export MPAN and been told i will receive my MINFO portal email"shortly". I was told this about a month ago. I have tried emailing Scottish power on various email addresses including the SEG and FIT teams and received no reply. The whole process of registering for the export MPAN was overcomplicated and from reading this is going to be even harder to provide the MINFO details and that's if i ever receive the email. This is deliberate on SPs part IMHO. If it was left up to my father there is no way this would be registered. I'm not even convinced i will manage it. How much money are they making from this when it should be customers who paid for the solar panels that benefit.

Does anyone know how i can go about getting the MINFO portal email or whether i can just use one of the links in the above posts and submit the info without the email?

They aren't making anything as the exported electricity simply goes back into the national grid, it doesn't get "sent" to SP.
