Switch from EON to a provider with on-demand payment (specific requirements inside)

Hi,

I am currently with EON on

I am looking to switch over to another provider. Specific requirements I have

Proper billing. I supply them readings last day of the month. They send me bill during first week of the month with proper billing period. That's what I am looking for.

To clarify, it seems EON does not have stable billing period. They can have billing period ending last day of the month, first or any other day of the month and recalculate a lot. I am tired of that.

On-demand payment. No direct debit or prepayment.

No chase to install smart meter. I don't need that.

I think you are going to be unlucky particularly re payment as companies do not want to handle cheques but sone do still offer bill payments through the Post Office. You do however pay a premium for such a service.

Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill

Welcome to the forum, you realise it's a money saving site, wait for the flak 💷. You're going for the most expensive way to pay.

Why do you want to pay the highest of the ridiculous capped prices ? For me that is £20 per month more, at the new lower April cap, than I am currently paying and my fix will also be lowering in April.

EonNext will bill when you ask them to. I always used submit readings on the first day of the month - that is deemed midnight on the last day of the month - so calendar month billing, and issue a statement later the same day.

They also will use variable direct debit, that is a direct debit taken 10 working days after the billing date for the full amount.

Reap the benefits of cheap fixed prices and pay for what you use.

They do not particularly bug you to get a smart meter if you tick the box in your on line preferences.

You are going to have a smart meter installed once yours goes out of calibration anyway so what is the big problem ?

I don't think any supplier is going to tick all your boxes.
