What's going on with Agile prices??

Hi

I've noticed that in addition to the 63p a day standing charge, the prices for the whole day on agile have been significantly higher the the price cap for going on at least a week, highest price today was 50p/kwh with the potential to hit a £1/kwh, not only that the peaks are getting longer.

Obvs i expect higher prices when there's no wind or sun and i suspect whats going on thanks to the Orange Menace isn't helping but i need surety if this is going to continue.

Eon have a 15mnth fix wit 24p/kwh and 49p standing charge that i'm seriously considering - and those prices are meant to drop in April. Should i jump ship? On average i only use 8kwh a day - but if this keeps up on agile, those 8kwh could be costing £8.50 a day!

Nail hit on head. That's what's upset Agile prices. Gas is up and so UK electricity prices are also up.

I need surety if this is going to continue.

    No-one can give you surety.

If that's the MSE Exclusive fix, be warned that you might already be too late.

Well, you can always come off Agile, move to SVR at 27p now, then cheaper between April and July and then..

If the war is still on there probably will be a very high price after that, if it doesn't it should settle by then.

So question is what will be the political situation in July? Nobody knows.

For now I'm staying on Agile as there are no clear signals what will happen. We've added significant solar since last year and that should help, especially if the sun deigns to come out again, plus new wind farms coming on stream as well (Dogger, Sofia..).

Usual rules need to be applied more vigorously.. avoid the 16.00 to 19.00 peaks! I'm still operating under SVR on that basis, or at least yesterday's SVR.. Who knows what it will be tomorrow to new customers..

if you need surety then Agile is not the right tariff for you. It’s literally based on being willing to take a bit of a gamble!
