British Gas Web Site - ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR

For at least two weeks I have been unable to get into the British Gas web site through any means (apart from the App on my Phone)

Their customer service seem to be unaware (or not interested) in this issue and try to blame my Internet Provider.

I cannot get onto www.britishgas.co.uk by any means thru Chrome or Edge.

Customer Service say they do not have a web site support group (Really!) so cannot help

Anyone have ideas how to get help?

Why not just use the app on your phone?

For those that are not app users, or otherwise need online access, I would suggest they follow the suppliers complaint procedure in the first instance.

Btw, I don't believe they do have a customer facing website support group; it's down to the frontline customer service to address (who can presumably seek help internally from whoever they deem necessary)

This is the way I have found most energy suppliers operate nowadays.

Which browser are you using? (I see you say Edge or Chrome)

e.g. a quick google of that error message for Edge suggests:

 clear your browser cache/cookies, check that your system date/time is accurate, and temporarily disable third-party antivirus or VPN services

. If issues persist, clear the SSL state in Windows Internet Options, disable browser extensions, or update Edge to the latest version.

This appears to be an issue you have with your hardware or software, not an issue BG are responsible for.

OK, I Found the issue

The British Gas web site does not respond properly to the ESET VPN connections. Disable Eset VPN before accessing www.britishgas.co.uk and it works fine.
