Hi

After a period of being offline EON Refer a Friend seemed to be back

But when I share my link with a friend they get the message

“Sorry we are unable to complete your referral”

Does anyone know what is going on as EON haven't got back to me and I had just about managed to convince my friend to switch!

Thanks for your help.

This is the screenshot of what shows when clicking the link.

As the image shows, the offer is no longer available. Presumably it only lasted a short time or was limited to a certain number of punters.

  • Did you and the friend you referred both subscribe to mention-me.com?

Did you and the friend you referred meet all the other t&cs laid out in the Eon Refer a Friend offer?

    Thanks for you message, WiserMiser.

The EON Website currently shows that Refer a Friend is generally active, that is why I'm asking.

For context a few weeks ago the Referral Scheme had closed but then reopened, and it definitely open now as can be seen at this link.

    Thanks for your message gpman.

These referral schemes don't generally require the Friend signing up to have any prior relationship or sign up with the company they just need to click the link. This issue is as soon as my friend is clicking my referral link the error message comes up whereas the referral scheme is meant to be generally open as posted about above.

Hopefully someone else might have specific experience with trying to refer through EON recently in February..

Or if you're an EON customer please check the 'Refer a Friend' section of your account and click your referral link does it work or give the same error message as my link?

    Thanks

Refer to term 3.3 in the T&C link you posted earlier

(the link I posted appears to show the same t&cs, but on the third party site)

3.3 To register for the Offer, both the Referrer and the Referee must register their details with Mention Me, Our Partner who will issue and administer the Referral Link, by using the same email address as registered on their Energy account with Us.

Ok yes, then in the normal course of events the Referee (the person about to switch to EON), would be given the chance to register subsequent to clicking the referral link. Whilst the issue I'm querying about is that immediately on clicking the link they're getting the error message.

I have successfully used the EON referral process before.so am clear on what the process normally entails.

    • Upon clicking the referral link the person signing up would be invited to enter their details.
    • The Refer a Friend scheme is clearly meant to be open as at time of writing.

Whilst I appreciate the general points received so far, I'm now hoping there are some actual EON customers on this Forum with recent experience.
