Business Electricity Advice needed

I have a micro business using lass than 1100 kWh per month.
when I opened 3 years ago I was signed up to BES through a broker on a variable tariff.
throughout the contract I have paid, and I’m still paying 44.1p/kWh and standing charge of 71p per day.
Having looked into current charges for a small business it seems that the current rate is about 26p p/kWh.
i thought having a variable tariff meant that my rate should have come down to nearer this level as wholesale prices for electricity came down. Is this the case or not?

Also, my contract has another 12 months to run. Can I get out of it?

3 years ago 44p was probably a good deal - now its about 26p
Unlike the Domestic market there is no SVT with max set by OFGEM.

Did you actually sign a 4 year deal. ?   Rather unusual.

The OFGEM rules  were extended from 19th December last year to include Small Businesses like yours.  It is now possible to change suppliers at the end of your contract without giving formal notice to the existing supplier.

I've got a claim in at the moment fighting a missed metering appointment.
