Rebel energy
Hi, me and my girlfriend have recently moved into our first place together, our electricity supply has been taken over by a scam company called Rebel Energy, when my landlord calls them they refuse to talk to him because he’s not the account holder and when I call them they say we can’t switch because we’re under contract.…

Trust electric radiators
I have been looking at these radiators. They are so expensive but claim to use half of an oil filled radiation such as the rointe ones. Has anyone got any experience or specialist knowledge or advice on them ? Are they worth the outlay to save the energy costs long term ?

Smart gas meter blank since April. Octopus unresponsive.
In Early April 2023 our smart gas meter display went blank. Our IHD stopped giving gas readings at the same time. I reported this to Octopus by phone who asked me to press the buttons on the front of the meter, take photographs, and send these to them. I did this for all button pressing options. The meter remained blank,…

We discovered an issue…

EDF Energy monitor with solar panels
I have a smart meter and a shade greener solar panels. I am wanting to change energy suppliers possibly to EDF. Does the energy monitor from EDF show when you are using solar energy. I am currently with Scottish power and it shows a pylon. I am wanting something similar so I know when to use free energy.

All electric flat w/ Electric heaters (Not night storage). Best option for hot water?
Hi all, Here's where I'm at: I own a two all bed all electric flat. It has a Pulsacoil immersion boiler (approx 10 years old), and electric clay (not night storage) heaters with individual thermostats in each room, and I'm on an economy7 tariff. Heat pumps or solar panels simply aren't a viable option for me currently,…

British Gas Homecare - point of concern
Cancelled mine because I had a relatively new boiler and got it for an annual service. However to ensure you qualify for the manufacturer’s warranty your boiler must be maintained in accordance with the manufacturer’s guidelines - or you lose it! British Gas told me when I asked that they do not service or maintain your…

Comparison site for EV or TOU tariffs
As per subject - is there any comparison site that works with EV or TOU tariffs? Compare the market has a flag for it but it doesn't seem to work - it says there are no tariffs available when I know of at least a few. Uswitch doesn't even have a flag for it.

Saving energy and close to £1k per year with a hot water bottle
I stumbled across this piece of research that showed that switching your thermostat down by 1 or 2 degrees (not off completely) and using a hot water bottle instead can save you close to £1k per year if you live in a detached house. I'm contemplating it as an experiment but would be great to hear how easy it was to do. Has…

Economy 10 timings and move to smart metering (Merged)
Hi all, Not sure if my original post was in the best thread, so I am posting to a new one... I need to know if the 'Eco 10' heater timings that we have been given by Octopus look as crazy as I think they are, to those with some experience. Background: We have an RTS telemeter, two MPANS and three readings, supplying what…

Purchasing a new home with electric heaters

Is British Gas defrauding us?
Hi everyone. Following a year of problems with BG and Ofgem awarding me almost £600 in compensation I've been keeping a close eye on my bills (which they still keep getting wrong) I've noticed something peculiar. Take a look at the account summary pictures below. They look normal until you check the maths. On my 3 latest…
