Fix Tariff Exit fees -
It used to be that if you changed from a fixed tariff to a variable tariff, within the same supplier, the suplier would zero the exit fees.
I have just had a customer service issue with BG, and have threaten to leave, however to do so they Fixed tariff still applies the exit fee unless moving to another fixed tariff with them.
Anyone know a way around this.
Thanks,

The part I have highlighted in bold is an incorrect generalisation, it has always depended on the individual supplier.peteuk said:It used to be that if you changed from a fixed tariff to a variable tariff, within the same supplier, the supplier would zero the exit fees.

Threatening to leave is not going to make one iota of difference.
If your customer service issue warrants a formal complaint then file one and they may then be more amenable to either letting you go penalty free or offering some compensation.0 -
Complaint raised - manager call back promised but not received. I finally spoke to a manager this morning who offered £100.00 "compensation" but then blindly passed me back to the agent I was speakig to, who then put in the wrong amount.Ayr_Rage said:

Totally inept - from start to finish and the question was very easily sorted, which I have now sorted myself with no help or direction from BG.Proud to have dealt with our debtsStarting debt 2005 £65.7K.

You should've taken the £100, that would cover your exit fee.3
