Changing Supplier - Import and Export
Hi, I'm looking for experience from people who've moved their metered export at the same time as they changed supply. For example moving from Octopus to EON. How much hassle getting export set up with the new supplier, and what sort of timescale? I'm leaving it late as I'm hoping the solar panels will wake up in the next…

£989 energy bill
Data Energy - a relatively new entrant to the energy suppliers market - have just presented a £989 energy bill to cover 2 months, and expect payment by 31 January. The property is new and all electric heating and water heating. No gas. So it was always going to be high per kwh of course. That is not the issue. The issue is…

British gas can't install a smart meter due to haveing storage heaters and economy 7.
Anyone else had this issue? I've also just signed up for a new tarrif and past the cooling off period and of course there's a charge to change providers, think it would be possible to say they can't provide a service and if I switch, tell them to sod off?

What is the approximate cost of UK gas per cubic foot ?
What is the approximate cost of UK gas per cubic foot ? This seems to be a surprisingly difficult question to get a straight answer to. The reason is simple. I want to look at my gas meter, take a reading, write it down, take another reading a few days later and work out what it has cost by multiplying the units used by…

Paying Engery Bill
I live on a residential park home site in Kent. I have lived here for 4 years, starting in May 2021. Our contract states that we are responsible for our gas bill, but our electric and water bills are on sub-meters, and the landlord will bill us every 1/4. The site has been here since 2018, with 15 occupied homes. No one…

Boiler.
We currently have an old Baxi Bermuda back boiler that we are looking to replace. This currently feeds the central heating, hot water, and immersion tank which is fitted into an upstairs airing cupboard. This supplies a power shower with its own pump. A friend has suggested keeping the immersion tank and current power…

Smart meter fiddle by new energy supplier?
I, like many others, lost my electricity supplier last year and my account went to British Gas where I was put on the standard economy 7 tariff. British Gas had no idea what to do with the meter and I had to manually extract readings for them. Earlier in the year I moved my gas and electricity to a new supplier offering…

Octopus vs eon
Currently on octopus 15m fixed august 24 v1. With the news of the exclusive Eon fix to MSE, wondering whether it’s worth the switch. The comparison reckons I’ll save £75 a year after cashback, but hesitant due to octopus’s much better reputation. What are people’s thoughts?

OVO SMART METER EMAIL
My elderly mother in law has had several requests from OVO stating she needs to make an appointment with them to have a Smart Meter fitted or her supply would be cut off. She has x2 meters for her THTC set up, which she had done a number of years ago when her husband was alive. I'm not sure if this can be done or legal.…

Who's Name Has To Be On Utility Bills? Occupying House With Parent
I live with my father and I'm in the process of buying it from him due to his inability to repay his mortgage. It's either that or we get stuck renting for the rest of our lives. All the utility bills are currently in his name, and he's the majority user of them (he's a bit of a waster). I'd like to know what bills have to…

Can't get Next Fixed 16m V1
I've logged into the cheap energy club to try and switch my tariff to the new Next Fixed 16m V1. Unfortunately I get a message saying I can't get the tariff. I'm currently with Sainsburys which is part of Eon Next but I thought it was available for existing and new customers? Has anyone else had the same issue?

Phase 3 electric Suppliers Domestic vs Business
We recently had 3 phase installed at our home, while we were having building work done. Reason mainly 'future-proofing' re electric car charging & partner wants to do welding etc. Plus the 3 phase wire was on a pole was in our garden so helped minimise the cost! The problem I have is getting comparative quotes from…

On trying to compare prices on the credit climb site, there is no option to choose octopus tracker (I'm on dec 2023 tracker) from the drop down menu when you choose dual fuel and click on octopus .
