Just wondering the above, i have a 25 year old 4 bed detached house, solar panels and a brand new boiler but still spent over £11 to heat my house today. Generated around 9 kwh and used it to power an oil filled radiator.
How much did you spend, what is normal on a snowy cold day?

1950s semi, patchy insulation (I keep meaning to improve it), brand-new conventional Vaillant gas boiler.
Today we have used ~76 kWh of gas for heat and hot water, which has cost about £3.73 on Octopus Tracker.

Same as most winter days, we have oil central heating and no smart meter. Fleecy lounge wear and a blanket and I was quite cosy

Heat pump data (which is rounded to nearest kWh for each 2 hour slot on the graph) says we used 24kWh by 10pm, so lets say 27kWh by midnight.

97% of our use is at Cosy cheap rate of 13.41p so around £3.65 for heating and hot water. Not bad when it was -5 in the early hours of this morning.

5 bed house, 280sq m, all areas set to a minimum of 16degrees 24/7,  but rooms we are actually using are at 20-22 from 08.00 til 22.30 when we are in, which is most of the time at the moment.   Cannot see today’s total as yet, but yesterday was just over £8 for gas.   Will be higher for today .  Boiler is fairly new.

We also have solar panels, yesterday we spent £3.20 on import and earned 37p from export, we did a load of washing and drying, plus a load in the dishwasher.  Weather was pretty sunny.

The figures for Monday have just appeared, surprisingly the gas was a little less than yesterday at £8.05 as was electricity at £2.77.  No export figure as yet

2 Bed detached modern bungalow (EPC A) has boiler with underfloor heating. 77kWh cost £4.21 including the standing charge on Monday. My better half feels the cold so we have the various zones set between 19 and 23 degrees C and the heating runs 24/7.

I make it about 65p, running the heating for an hour in the morning and evening (north alondon, heavily insulated 2019 new build flat that retains warmth very well, so very much an outlier).

Detached rural bungalow with all electric and 4 storage heaters in use. I used 48kWh about £2.75 @ 5.69p (I'm with UW) to heat my living room to 19C first thing and the rest of the house to 10C. The problem was in that extreme cold yesterday, the living room was down to 14C by 9pm but I was in bed by 8:30pm watching Farscape.
