VM Payments via Apps
This is my preferred way of repaying CC's in addition to DD's. VM is one example of linking their App to personal banking Apps. This ensures I have more control in reducing CC's at my convenience and affordability. Does user's think Apps are positive addition.. thanks

HSBS Expat Credit Card
I am trying to arrange a balance transfer from my HSBC Expat credit card(Jersey) to another banks credit card and have already had a first attempt rejected by Barclays - is there anyway to find out what cards are accepted for balance transfers by the banks?

Will balance be automatically transferred when account is approved
I applied for a virgin credit card to get a balance transfer offer. They phoned me to confirm more details ( was the fraud team just checking details). I think at the time of application I just put the total amount of debt I have. The amount they have given me is less than my total debt on my two cards. I then got a…

Buying a Car on Credit Card?
Hi, My Credit Card has £5000 limit with 0% Interest on it for 12 months I think. If a find a used car for £5k, I know its gonna be tough to find for £5k because used car prices have nearly doubled in price after covid & inflation however Inflation will make my £5k debt cheaper over time. Does the 12 months 0% card offer…

Hi, Received an email from JL saying that for online purchases we would have to enter an email address as well as the OTP sent. They will be using biometrics to analyse how I have entered my email addess ( which doesnt need to be the one registered with the card ) to authenticate. Have you heard of this before ? How will…

Card that can be used straight away?
I've been disorganised/too organised depending on which way I look at this! Last year I had a credit tidy up and cancelled unused credit cards. I thought I still had one kicking around for emergencies but turns out I didn't keep one open after all. I was hoping to pay a few quid of a holiday balance on one for the section…

Debit Card with nominal balance
Is there any way you can have a DC with only a small balance. This would be used for buying coffees etc. when at a swimming pool. The fear of having card stolen from locker prevents my wife from taking hers with her. But is seeking an alternative for small purchases with little liability if lost/stolen.

Can I Balance Transfer from my spouse's credit card?
I have just received my first ever 0% fee 13 month BT card. I have a monster balance to transfer over at the end of this month. Can I give the number of a card owned by my spouse? I can't see anything in the T&Cs saying I can't!

BA Amex premium plus card warning
Just a warning about this card, which was advertised with a £250 fee in exchange for a business class companion voucher after a £10,000 annual spend. They just increased this to £15,000 mid-year (so I now need to reach £15,000 in my 1st year or £10,000 by November). So, if you are thinking of taking out one of these cards…

Keep Balance Transferring between two Cards
It's only a theory but could this work if the providers kept allowing the option for balance transfers: Say you have a BT option on one card with an unused credit limit of for this example £4,000. (Card 1) You are carrying a substantial balance on another card (Card 2) Card 1 allows you to complete a BT for a fee, so you…

Beware Paypal Credit - Musk didn't become a billionaire for nothing
I've just had a shock to find I had nearly £2k worth of uncleared balance in my Paypal Credit. It started when I made a few large purchases a couple years ago on pay in 3 or 4, I assumed my payment to PP credit would be adjusted accordingly so I wouldn't incur interest. I also started using PP credit for smaller purchases…

Barclaycard lowering minimum payment
Can someone check my maths? I've had an email from Barclaycard lowering my minimum payment My current minimum payment is 2.75%. I don't think that £240.31 is 2.75% of £7,500, and I also don't think 1% of £7,500 is £202.81. Unless I've misunderstood the email?

Barclaycard Rewards replacement
Barclays have just sent me an email to let me know that "following a review of our credit card products" they are increasing my interest rates on my Barclaycard Rewards account. Now, I always pay my balances in full, but this is a hugely irritating increase, completely out of the blue. In the past their increases were more…

Halifax Credit Card statements arent available for 2024
Hey everyone, I'm reaching out to see if anyone else is experiencing a frustrating issue with their bank regarding missing PDF credit card statements. Since the beginning of 2024, despite selecting online PDF statements as my preference, I haven't been able to download a single statement. When I log in, it simply says, "No…

Nationwide Interest
Please can you tell if I am missing something. I paid my CC bill off the day before the payment was due as I always do. I opened this month's statement and found I have been charged interest. I've just phoned and they have told me that I will now have to pay interest on anything I buy on my CC even if I pay my bill off in…

LBG change of address issue
I bought my current home about 6 month ago. Mortgage is with Halifax, so the address on my current account was changed without me doing anything. I was then reassured that I don't need to change the address on Bank of Scotland system. I cannot recall the details, but I somehow updated the address with Lloyds as well.…

How to use credit cards to boost credit score
Hi there, It's probably been asked a million times before but here's my situation. As a married couple we're basically debt free aside from our mortgage. Credit card for car hire
Hi. We intend to travel to Europe in the summer and need to hire a car. I’ve managed to do this in the past using only my debit card. We’ve just returned from Northern Ireland where I got caught out and they wouldn’t accept my debit card. I had to pay an extortionate amount in insurance before they would let me take the…
