Advice Needed - Estimated Gas Reading for 4 years due to faulty smart meter
Hi I am getting more concerned about this as time is going on, In early 2020 I switched gas and electric suplliers from British gas to Eon. We already had smart meters fitted so I assumed it would be an easy switch over. However the gas meter (smart meter) has never worked the display has been blank and so no readings have…

Power UP event
Seems a first time for this. My energy provider has a power up event tomorrow between 1 and 2pm. 29p / KWH credit for every KWH shifted. what’s the max I can do without blowing a fuse? I have 2 EVs, one EV charger so I could do 7 on the charger and whatever the granny charger can deliver (3??). Would that cause a problem?

British Gas Imperial or Metric. Overcharged and not helped. Incompetent.
Hi all, here is my tale of woe with British Gas. I’ll try to
keep this as brief as possible because it is a long story. I joined BG in September 2019, leaving OVO energy. As an
average energy user (12000kWh) I always looked around for the best deal, changing
providers each time a deal expired. An important note, OVO…

Scottish Power and SEG
About a month and a half ago, I applied to Scottish Power for SEG for my solar panels. And since then, I have heard nothing. Any follow up emails have disappeared into the void. I have contacted Scottish Power via their Chatbot only to be told to contact them directly using the same email address. Does anyone have any tips…

Unregistered supply?
Hi, Wondered if anyone has any advice. Took out a tenancy last July and was advised a specific broker was our energy company - I'd never heard of this broker before and upon searching there's very little info online. Contacted the broker 10+ times over the last 10 months to set up supply and billing and have never had a…

RTS Switch Off Meter Query
Hi folks, Having scoured the forums and associated links on this topic, I'm at a loss as to whether my electric meter is an RTS one. I have an Actaris ACE9000 KBD prepayment meter on Economy 7. It's an SSE owned meter, although I am now with Octopus. It's got a date of 2007 on it, but there doesn't seem to be a large black…

Octopus loyalty fix September 23, no regrets
I fixed with Octopus in September 23 after doing the maths. It had an early exit fee of £75 per fuel. Having checked my usage for this year (4 months) I am down £1.90 I won't be using any gas this summer so I will be up due to higher SC rates I have not calculated October to January when rates were higher so I guess I win…

New storage heaters on 3-phase supply
Looking to replace old storage heaters in new house. House is on 3-phase supply and has a SMETS2 meter. Been looking at Dimplex Quantum and Creda TSRE, but both say unsuitable for use on a 3-Phase supply. Are there modern HHR storage heaters suitable for use on a 3-Phase supply?

British Gas - Pay your incorrect bill or get a black mark on your credit record!
Dual bill, gas correct electricity estimate wrong - there was a number after a decimal point, which my meter doesn't have (ignoring correct reading submitted on time). I paid the gas part of the bill and asked for a corrected electricity bill. Months later (I had transferred to UW) still no corrected bill, still showing…

British Gas double charging me for the same energy
Hi everyone I’m having real problems with British Gas. Back in 2022 I moved from credit meter to pay as you go for
my gas and electric and had on going issues with my account being transferred

it confirmed from British Gas that both my accounts…

Gas v Electricity costs, Octopus moved from Shell
Hi, I've recently been ported over to Octopus from Shell and am currently on their "flexible octopus" tariff. The rates charges are: Unit Rate - Electricity 25.29 kWh, Gas 5.97kWh. Standing Charge - Electricity 54.83p/day, Gas 28.88p/day. I have a non-condensing boiler, so say 75% efficient, which pushes up actual gas cost…
