Power UP event
Seems a first time for this. My energy provider has a power up event tomorrow between 1 and 2pm. 29p / KWH credit for every KWH shifted.
what’s the max I can do without blowing a fuse? I have 2 EVs, one EV charger so I could do 7 on the charger and whatever the granny charger can deliver (3??). Would that cause a problem?

10 x 29p is £2.90. For your effort0 -
That's unlikely to cause a problem - it's about 44A and most properties have a main incoming supply that will handle 60A. As well as the £2.90 income you'll also have put £2.50ish worth of electricity into your EVs so you'll be a fiver or so up for doing no more than charging your EVs at 1pm.silvercar said:Seems a first time for this. Seems an odd time to do it. Agile prices aren't very low tomorrow afternoon. I guess they must have bought too much leccy for that period.0

Have you got a self-cleaning programme on the oven?0

I think I still pay for the electricity used. So net is a gain of 1p/KWH plus the charge on the cars. On the charge anytime tariff so the Tesla only saves 8-9p/KWH, the Leaf gains all 28p/KWH[Deleted User] said:

Yes, but I get charged for what I use at 28p/KWH so the gain is minimal if I just waste electricity.coffeehound said:Have you got a self-cleaning programme on the oven?I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Ah, I thought this was going to be similar to the Octopus Power Up where they give free electricity during certain times.

It’s going to be free as they give you a credit of 29p/ KWH, but it won’t be a profitpowerful_Rogue said:Ah, I thought this was going to be similar to the Octopus Power Up where they give free electricity during certain times.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Then i'm confused by some of your posts. If it usually costs you £5 to fill up your EV and that is free during the power up, then that's a £5 profit. When I get free electricity I charge the batteries, charge the EV, deep clean the washing machine and anything else I can think of. I don't waste electricity, I just use more then I usually would because it's free.0

Agree with the £5 profit. It's a saving.
And it might not even be using more, just using it at a different timePPI success. Banding success. Double Dip PCN cancelled! South facing solar (Midlands) and battery. Savings Session supporter (is it worth it now!?)0
