Vaillant Ecotec plus 831 - heating working......sort of.
Happy New year all! Looking for some advice beyond my limited boiler knowledge. Bit of history, 14 year old vaillant Ecotec plus 832 boiler. All worked well. 2 years ago a small leak appeared and only hot water when the heating was on. Classic diverter valve failure. All replaced and has worked well since......until....…

PCN resulting in CCJ against my name – advice needed
I recently discovered that I have a CCJ against my name, and my credit score has dropped significantly. This all started when I stopped at a petrol station and received a PCN. I ignored both the PCN and a letter from the solicitor acting on behalf of the parking company. Now I’m unsure what to do next. What happened * A…

New to Investing, Seeking Advice
Hi All, Hoping you can help steer me in the right direction. I am a 45 yo who has decided to start investing, so that I have more money to enjoy in retirement or, leave it to my kids if I pop it before I get to enjoy it. But I am feeling a little overwhelmed at the options. One thing that seems to be a no brainer is the…

Moving forward and upwards
I decided today to bite the bullet and start a saving for a deposit diary. Moving away from my other diary as that served its purpose for that part of my life. Its now time to focus on my next goal, buying my own home, for that I need a 15% deposit. For nearly three years I've been saving my pennies, saving chunks of my…

Buying a refurbished phone
I am looking at buying a refurbished phone listed as 'very good condition' (This product is in very good cosmetic condition with only light signs of use. It has been fully tested and works perfectly.) I have read the guide about buying refurbished phones and would like to know, what to look for regarding warranty, etc ? as…

Mounjaro Website
Apologies if this isn't appropriate for this forum. My GP has currently prescribed me mounjaro for Type 2 diabetes, but has said the prescription will finish once the diabetes is under control, so I'm thinking of buying it privately to try and keep the weight loss going. On a Radio 4 podcast someone suggested using…

Lifetime ISA changes - is it still worth putting money into it?
I opened up a lifetime ISA to begin saving for a first time house. With the potential changes to the LISA and uncertainty around it, is it still worth putting money into it at the moment or should I put my payments on hold until there is further clarity around it all? I'm still trying to get my head around it all and want…

re-mortgaging soon, never paid HTB what are the best options?
Hi, we are coming up to having our mortgage for 10 years. We were very late realising that paying the HTB straight away was the cheaper option, by which time, when we re-mortgaged at 5 years, we decided to just carry on paying the interest and it kinda got forgotten about. Now that we are going to be re-mortaging again…

Does a TA6 form carry any weight if problems are undisclosed?
Hi, A friend of mine purchased her first property in March 2025 - a leasehold ground floor apartment. Her Level 2 survey completed in Dec 2024 picked up evidence of a chemical injection damp course to the rear of the building but also noted that '…the walls are generally true, and no serious issues were noted, however,…

Gatwick Drop Off PCN
Hi everyone, I’m looking for some help with a PCN received for a Gatwick Airport drop off. The driver dropped someone off but missed the midnight payment deadline. About 10 days later, and before any PCN was actually issued, the registered keeper's mother called NCP to try and resolve it. It wasn't possible to backdate the…

Curry's costomer service decline
I’m posting here because I’m genuinely shocked at how difficult it has been to resolve what should be the simplest issue imaginable: a missing item and a refund. I ordered a small item from Currys that never arrived. Since then, I’ve contacted them 8–9 times via their website chat, sent several emails (including to their…

Capquest/AGG - on a fishing expedition...
Hi all, first time in this part of the forum, but had success seeing off a PPC last year. Anyhow... Opened a suspicious letter from an unknown address and was expecting it to be PPC PCN - but lo & behold it was a letter (actually two) which seemed to be from Capquest saying they had now assumed a debt from AGG. Neither of…

I applied for partial retirement as advised 5 months before my 60 th birthday but they couldn't even get the date right . They chose the day before - I was told in October I would get another offer by e-mail within 5 working days, I am still waiting and on part time earnings only. So stressful my thoughts are with anyone…

Have read the threads several times and need help please
I have 2 seperate PCNs, both from during active treatment of breast cancer when I made mistakes. First was Tesco in September for an overstay, I felt unwell and went to get a drink and some food. I didn't contact the store or appeal in time and I got a letter from Debt Recovery this morning. The second is from GroupNexus…

Smart meter not sending readings to supplier. Supplier won't fix.
Hi All. My smart electricity meter has never sent readings to my supplier. It was installed before I moved into the property, and was seemingly installed without an install code at the time. I initially raised this as an issue with EDF in February, who have since sent 2 engineers round, and had me try and apply a remote…

Home Insurance Quote misleading.
Compare The Market home insurance search quoted AA silver at £285.56. But, when going to the AA provider they say "Just one more question. What is the value of your house?" and the premium jumps to £518.18. MSE have a search category for house value. Is this is an AA/CTM con?
