Amazon Slovakia refused my delivery and sent it back to me

So
I sent a laptop back to Amazon EU ( Amazonská 4753/1 Sereď, 926 01
Slovakia) only for it to be returned to me as the recipient refused it (
no reason given).
Amazon won't refund me until I send it back.
I don't want to send it again via PF as I don't want to lose even more time/money on failed deliveries.
I believe it was sent via Global Priority.

I attached all the relevant paperwork so a bit confused as to why it would not get delivered.
Has anyone else had problems sending stuff back to Amazon EU? what delivery company do people recommend?

What did Amazon say when you asked them?0
-
When you say you sent it back to them, do you mean via the returns process, or you packaged it up and sent it to them via a courier without them agreeing first?1
-
I once had a similar return, also from an European country. I had sent it ‘signed for’ but addressed to a company but nobody on the receiving side were willing to take the risk and sign on behalf of the company.
Perhaps send it just ‘tracked’ and insure it well?0 -
Did anything on your paperwork clearly indicate it was being returned for refund/faulty?
We see a lot of EU consignment returns where customs fees are raised and the recipient refuses to pay. On the supply side Amazon insist suppliers pay all duties and taxes before delivery is made to their facility.0 -

Did you buy from Amazon Slovakia or Amazon.co.uk?
Where did the Amazon tell you to return it to when you contacted them?1 -
So I have had an update from Parcel Force it looks like the parcel was held at customs and then sent back for an unknown reason. This was their reply:Hi, our partners Slovakia Post have only been able to advise us the recipient refused the delivery. A reason for refusal may not have been given by the recipient.
This item ************ was scanned as being refused whilst held with customs. It does not appear the parcel was customs cleared for delivery in Slovakia and returned to the UK as the import was terminated at customs.
If the addressee / importer did not wish to spend time engaging with customs / Slovakia Post to provide paperwork to clear this item or clear the item online, or did not wish to pay any customs charges, this may be why they refused the item.

Quite a legitimate question that was rasied.

Quite a legitimate question that was rasied. It was sent via the Amazon returns process, which consists of:Return Mailing Label
Commercial Invoice X 2Hazmat Label

That's fair enough. However it was never mentioned in your original post that you contacted Amazon who advised to send it back. Thus it was not a 'silly assumption', but a pertient question that was asked.
