Amazon Slovakia refused my delivery and sent it back to me

Hi All,
I'm hoping someone can help me as I've encountered a big problem and Amazon France who are refusing to refund me for a faulty item unless it is returned to their Slovakian return centre. I have tried to do this which cost me £333.39 including customs duty & taxes with Parcelforce. It was refused by Slovakian customs due to it having lithium batteries. I complied with Amazon's return procedure but they are refusing to refund without the actual item being sent back. I am in the UK and bought from Amazon France back in July 2025.
Thanks

You have resurrected a very old thread (May 2021) about footwear. It had nothing to do with lithium batteries. You might be better to start your own thread with a more suitable title.
When you do so, please include more information about whether you complied with Amazon's rules for returning lithium batteries internationally. Did you use Amazon's special HazMat labels? Did you use one of the couriers approved to ship lithium batteries, such as DHL or UPS (Parcelforce do not seem to be on the list)?
This:
includes Amazon's rules for returning goods containing Li batteries to their European returns hub Amazonská 4753/1 in Slovakia.
