Thanks to my water company ! On a water meter, doing work, get refund on next bill
Thanks to my water company ! Advised that they would be doing work on my road and I would need to run my cold water mains tap for up to 30 mins after work completed. Escalated via email to CEO as we are on a water meter and hey presto, they have agreed to reduce my next bill. :j:beer:

Are shower filters actually useful? (for softening)
Hi all, Basically we live in a pretty hard water area (NW England), and it has triggered eczema for all of my parents & parents-in-law, probably because they have never been to a hard water area until they came over a couple of weeks ago. Anyway, the drinking water is already filtered with Brita and we want to soften the…

Replacing Lead Pipe
Hi, would just like a little advise. I've tested the flow rate of our taps and we are getting about 6 liters per minute which is very bad, also not very good pressure either. Now the lead pipes date back to the 1920s and I believe the pipes are burst on our land, it is also a shared water supply. So would replacing the…

What happens with my bill until meter is installed?
I moved in the property I live now 3 months ago. I have asked for a water meter from Thames Water almost 2 months now and had a contractor coming in and confirmed that a meter may be installed more than 1 month ago. The problem is that I am a single occupier and during this time I am paying way too much on water-actually…

Incorrect Meter, Incorrect bill
I moved into my apartment 4 years ago and I thought the water bill seemed quite high as I was living on my own, however as this was the first time I had moved out of home and had to pay the bill I wasn't sure what the bill should be so I kept paying when they asked for more money. Over the past 2 years the bill seems to…

Chalenge Seven Trent
Why are we paying Water companies such as Seven Trent who are actually making millions whilst breaking laws and providing a very poor service? Why are we paying to keep a few people very rich for a service of cleaning and transition of an act of nature? They do not provide the water as it is rain water given to them for…

advice needed please
Hi. I moved into my house last year. I didn't contact any of my utility suppliers as I had no idea who they were, instead I waited for some form of communication from them. My wait resulted in me receiving my bills under the title " the occupier" I then paid these bills to the automated payment phone line, which is the…

Water bill dropped
We've moved home, from a three bed flat to a three bed terrace (but with two extra rooms). Our water bill has apparently dropped from c£380 a year to about £200. Does this seem about right? The bill says that the old RV was c200 and is now 112. Neither property is on a meter and the number of people in the property hasn't…

Overbilled for Water?
My parents live on an unadopted road, which is a road that is not tarmacadamed, basically gravel. Any road repairs, or puddles are fixed by the residents, as an unadopted road doesn't come under control of the council. United Utilities charge for water run off/drainage, which isn't a feature in this street, but they charge…

Water Board refusing to fit external stop tap!
The story is that we couldn't find a stop tap in the road, so I called out the water board and they put an electric current (?) on the supply pipe under the kitchen sink and managed to find the supply pipe under the driveway, tracked it to the property boundary and arranged for their fitters to fit a stop tap. Wind forward…

Yorkshire Water want to help themselves to my money
It’s bad enough when the energy companies decide to help themselves to our money because they have access to our bank accounts because we pay by direct debit but when a water company does the same thing it is extortion because none of us has any choice about who supplies our water (unless we are lucky enough to have our…

Hi, although our water is paid by Direct debit I have just received another bill in lloydstsb billing manager for the princely sum of £2.87! Any idea why they have done this rather than just adjusting the direct debit amount, or would that have been to simple for them to work out? :o
