in Water bills
Never given it much thought but from speaking to people our water bill seems quite high.
£35 a month (based on usage)
2 people in house - both full time workers
2 Laundry washes per week
7 Washing up Dishes per week
7 showers per week (often use gym)
Wash car about once a fortnight
Back Garden watered with watering can.
I've done a few little checks. E.g. poured half a litre of water which registered as exactly 1 litre on our water meter.
Lived at the house now 3 years - is it possible to get any refunds?
Many Thanks

You'd have to ask the water company to check the calibration on the meter first.0

You need more then pouring a half litre of water to get a refund. Most water meters can not over record so you need to check consumption carefully as the only way to solve the problem is to get the water company to remove and test the meter and that will cost you if you are wrong.There is a race of men that don't fit in; A race that can't stand still;

Water charges vary by a huge amount across the UK. The charges in the South West can be over 3 times as high as some other parts.
£35 a month for two people is not excessive.
As for measuring, you need to check with 20 litres or so to get any accurate indication on a meter.
I have never heard of a water meter over-recording.0 -
The old Fusion meters could over record. They were removed on mass by STW due to a possible fault and the replaced with the newer model which seems to work as it shouldThere is a race of men that don't fit in; A race that can't stand still;
