Essex and Suffolk Court Claim

Options
I have today received a claim summons from Northampton Court for my water bill. Looking a bank statements i was about 4 weeks behind with payments (£30) but not had any other correspondence apart from this. Now they want extra money for court fees and solicitors fees

What do I do now? Have emailed them through their website but says it takes up to 10 working days for reply. I cannot hear well to use phone

Surely they cant just go straight to court before and reminders etc? ?For the last few weeks Ive added bit extra onto the weekly payments to cover missed ones

The payment is due on receipt of the bill-they're not obliged to issue you with any reminders.
Although to go straight to a summons seems somewhat hasty.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

    See page 5, Steps 1, 2 and 3.

They appear to be at step 3. Ask them when they carried out Steps 1 and 2. If not, why not?

But you already stated that you had broken your agreement to pay by instalments....once you do that, the whole of the debt becomes due immediately. See page 8 of the PDF on the link above.
