Proofing employment status from 15 yrs ago!
Long story short - I’m currently battling with Santander over PPI. When we took out a mortgage my partner was self employed, but they ticked the employed box on the application. Resolver: Escalating to Financial Ombudsman: process is seems unclear and clunky
I've been using Resolver to deal with a lot of historical claims on behalf of my husband and myself. Santander and HSBC have been difficult to deal with and so now I've escalated a few claims that are dragging on with no real progress being made. Obviously at the moment FOS are very busy and the process seems to be that…

GE Money rejected PPI - agent gone out of business
We had a secured loan which had PPI added to it. We signed up for this because the selling agent told us that we would not be accepted for the loan if we didn't take it. We have made a claim to GE Money who provided the funds, and they have come back to us saying that whilst they provided the finance for the PPI, they did…

Halifax PPI
I put in a claim in respect of a mortgage going back to 1986 and claimed I was mis-sold PPI. Initially they could not even find records of it, until I produced evidence. Now they are saying they did not miss sell it. I just feel they are trying it on so intend to take it to the ombudsman. Anybody else encountered problems…

Does a credit card show as a 'loan account' on PPI claim response?
Hi, After waiting months for a reply because I'd claimed on the last day I have received 3 rejection letters stating a charge for PPI was not made against each account. Each letter notes an account number and refers to the accounts as 'loan account'. I can only ever remember 1 loan, but the PPI was never charged against…

HI, I have applied for a PPI claim with Santander. I took out a £3000 loan with them and got into serious arrears and ended up in a DRO. Can I still claim for PPI even if I still didn’t pay back the £3000 because it was all written off in the DRO? The DRO ended over a year ago. Thanks, T

I received a certificate of due completion stating that the IVA had finished after we…

Reclaim tax on PPI - now I owe more tax?
I followed a recent article by ML about reclaiming tax on PPI. I completed the forms but instead I’d having a refund, I now actually owe money to HMRC! The issue seems to come from the details I read in the article which said that earners up to around £50,000 had a £1,000 personal savings allowance. My total earnings for…
