Sorry me again, I submitted my Husband's R40 on Friday, through the government gateway it says they've sent a reply already (dated today) I'm assuming you can't see the reply online? But it seems awfully quick for them to have made a decision. 
I've never claimed anything like this before so worried I've made a mistake or something? I put another claim in for myself yesterday so I'm hoping I've not made a mistake. 
I also would have thought that such letters would be sent electronically nowadays to save paper. 
Sorry I'm not very patient with these things and have a holiday fund to build :-)

I would expect you to either get a calculation showing how much tax you owe or are due back or a letter if you have made such a mess of the form they don't know what to do with it.

Other than tax code notices I don't think HMRC send stuff electronically yet.

Thank you, hopefully it's not the latter, I know Maths isn't my strong point but...
One day I'll learn some patience
