How is the neighbours live TV ahead of ours?
Before you suggest ask them, we don't talk. Still, it shouldn't be too much to find out since i doubt we're the only set of neighbours in the land that experience this. I tried Google searching but i'm clearly using the wrong terminology as i'm getting results for the Australian soap!! Take tonight for example - we're…

cheap overseas calls from a landline
I used to use Rebtel to call someone in the USA, but I now need urgently to find another provider as the Rebtel number no longer works. I have found several options and wondered which would be the most reliable: www.call18866.co.ukwww.freecallstousa.co.ukwww.toolani.comcall2call.co.ukThere are probably more out there,…

Virgin vs Sky
I've recently had the expected letter from Virgin about the price increase. I've been on a deal for the past 18 or 24 months (can't remember) of £50.45 now going up to £70.45. I've rung to haggle but they're not playing this time! So, time to shop around. Sky seems to have some good deals. I've never been with Sky, what's…

Basic landline - cheapest route?
Just wondering what is the cheapest deal to keep an active landline for incoming calls only? Even if only to somehow redirect to a mobile number. It seems bonkers in this day and age to pay monthly rental for a landline.

Broadband, landline and where's my number gone?
Quick background - had standard broadband and landline for years generally bouncing back and fore between providers and keeping my same landline number along the way. Most recent change was between Plusnet and John Lewis; with working from home and poor internet quality I switched to fibre. Now being told that to go back…

BT retentions
Hi - my contract ends mid Jan. I called them today but wasn't impressed with their offers, effectively to match what I'm on. Am I trying my luck too soon, 5 weeks away from renewal date? As an indication, I pay £42 a month for broadband download speeds guaranteed at c.50mbps. Package contains BT Sport and Ultimate which I…

Virgin Media saving
I signed up for Ultimate Oomph at £89 a month which was about to increase to £147.50 a month. A phone call to the retentions team and I'm now on Ultimate Volt at £99 a month. That's billed as £25 a month to O2 and £74 to Virgin Media. Not that I'll use the landline or the SIM. So a net saving of £48.50 a month or £873 over…

Virgin media shocking service

iPhones - Locked to PayG network?
I have an unlocked iPhone that I intend to sell soon. However, I want to lend it to a friend for a few weeks for using it as a backup phone with their PayG SIM card. Does using an iPhone with a PayG SIM card lock the phone on that network?

Broadband and Mobile Companies annual increase
HI, Does anyone agree that as nearly all of the mobile/broadband providers now have the standard clause of CPI+3.9% typically, that a monopoly has been created? Given lockdown their profits must be at a reasonable level? Could MSE start a campaign against this?

Virgin Media, contract up, no copper-based fibre in area. How to negotiate?
Hello folks, I'm not very good at this sort of thing. I took Virgin Media when I moved into this property for ~£25 a month, broadband and landline only, no TV. The honeymoon period is over and the bill has been over £40 for a while now. Just got a letter saying it's going up by another 3 quid a month. If I had a decent…

Can Virgin Media Do Anything Right?
Here I go again... I agreed a new contract for just Fibre 100MB this month and removed TV and Landline, I was reluctant to stay with VM after a farce of a complaint last year. New contract started the next day and services no longer required were stopped. New contract via email received all was correct and an email…

Haggle win
Used to pay £78.00 on virgin, received price increase email to say going to £86.50. Rang up was told £85 was the best they could offer me to stay, so I put my 30 day cancellation in straight away. A couple of days passed and rang sky, was offered a deal of £62.50 for 18months (free Netflix, but no bt sport. Besides that…

Talk Talk - moving home mid contract - issues with dodgy order cancellation
Hello, I need some help with this matter. Has anybody out there got any experience with moving home with talktalk? Tomorrow, I should be completing on house purchase (!) and I'm currently renting. I have 12months remaining on Fibre BB contract with TalkTalk so naturally I contacted them to find out their process - ie how…

Just saved £285.12 per annum on my virgin tv and broadband account
Afternoon all, my first post here, but wanted to share with you all that after contacting Virgin today (was on hold for nearly one hour) I managed to secure a reduction of £285.12 a year on my account with to little to no haggling. I was polite and courteous to the very helpful lady and told her that I could get what I…
