I Have got a MotoG 8 Plus phone. I was in Brighton and unfortunately I am sure I left the charger plugged in when I was rushing out yesterday. I suppose I could ask if the hotel would send it on to me. I looked on the Motorola web site and I think that charger is out of stock I have read stories of phone chargers that cause fires so i want to be sure that what I buy is safe. I would appreciate your advice again all be it on a different subject Thanks Sue

Your phone has a USB-C port. Do you have any other phone/tablet USB chargers lying around? If so then you just need a USB-A to USB-C cable. Something like this https://amzn.eu/d/gR4MPg5 (similar cables can even be purchased in Poundland!)

Thank you for your suggestion I have had 2 Motorola previously. I obviously still have the charger for both but neither will plug in to the current phone. I have looked at everything I have here but nothing will plug in to current phone. I called the hotel and they say they will have a look in their lost property.0

When I look at chargers I am really unsure about what I should order. My main concern is that the 2 other Motorola chargers will fit both old phones but neither will fit . I have checked everything including one belongs to my cam for my camera but again nothing fits. I am very happy to buy one but I am trying to decide what would be compatible. Sue

Your old chargers will not work because the end that plugs into the phone is not compatible.
You may only have to buy a new cable though rather than the plug adapter itself. Have a look at the cable I suggested above. Does the larger connector look the same as the connector on the chargers you have currently?0 -
Easiest thing to do is to go into a Tesco or other phone shop and get one of their 12 year olds to help. That's what I tend to do.
Frankly I'm finding phone charges a bit like music techonology....78s, 33s, 45s, tapes, 8 tracks, dvds and back to 33s. This is why I don't tend to throw away a lot of tech as it's going to come back all trendy!!!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe and Old Style Money Saving boards. I have spent a good bit of time looking at phone chargers; I spoke to Motorola and was told to
turbo TYPE C sge seems to say that this is important. I am so uncertain that I have still ordered anything. For the caples have been examined and tested but nothing that I have will fit. The old phones are fully charged but no sim card in them; I need to just take a jump and not dwell on what if! if it sits then good and if not I suppose i can return it. I do appreciate all the adbice given here Sue0 -

Typically a mobile charger has two components. The plug adapter and the cable. My point is that you may be able to use one of the plug adapters you have, and then just buy a new cable compatible with your phone. But you'd need to establish if your old plug adapters have a USB-A connection. As seen in this image below, do your existing chargers have a connector that looks like the bigger one on the cable? (middle of the image)
Anyway, if you want a quick and easy solution then is from Argos is £11.99 and includes the plug adapter and the cable and will work with the Motorola G8 Plus Buy USB-C Mains Charger and Cable - Black | Mobile phone chargers | Argos Or this one from Amazon is slightly more at £14.99 but is slightly higher power so may charge the phone quicker UGREEN USB Charger Quick Charge 3.0 Charger with USB C Cable QC 3.0 Fast Charge Adapter Compatible with Galaxy S22 S21 S20 S10 S9 S8 Note10 Note9, Mi 11 10 9 8, Huawei P40/P30, Moto G8, iPhone, iPad: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics & Photo1 -
