I am a 20 year Sky VIP
I am currently paying £43 for HD
Sky Signature £20.00
Sky Sports - F1 Pack £18.00
Sky Sports HD FREE
Sky HD £5.00
Sky Go Extra FREE
See It First FREE
What is the cheapest deal that I can expect to upgrade to Q ?
I use a magic eye for bedroom TV - I understand that Sky, in their wisdom stopped using this and I need a mini box on Q ?
Is there any casjback on upgrading from Quidco as an existing customer ?

If I was half as smart as I think I am - I'd be twice as smart as I REALLY am.

I’m currently online with them now, they offering £20 signature, uhd and Hd £6. F1 £15 which they assure me is not a 18 month contract but I’m not convinced as it literally says £3 month discount on 18 month contract on the chat!

Thanks - similar to what I am paying for the same on HD ?
What about a mini box - and cashback through quidco ?

Can you have F1 without HD (saving £5)?

I wouldn’t think so.  The only way to find out is to ring up or goo on chat and negotiate new price.  As to cash back I don’t know but wouldn’t expect any upgrade price via a quidco link to be as good as you can get online or phone

How's £43 Inc F1 HD and a multi screen box for the bedroom?
And due to my loyalty there is no charge for the equipment for an engineer install.

So basically they are upgrading you to Q and throwing in a mini box for the same price as before ? No install or "admin" costs ?Probably as good as you are going to get !

With the added benefit of Discovery plus, Netflix and YouTube
Yes - does appear a good deal ?

Is there any downside to Q compared to HD?

Yes, you don't own the box, so you'll have to send it back if you decide to give up with SKY in the future.

You'll need to have the LNB on the dish upgraded which means you wont be able to use the  HD box anymore unless you can persuade them to install a Hybrid LNB which works with both the HD and Q boxes.

We've had SKY Q for about a year now, upgraded from HD, we find that it 's a bit slower and less intuitive to use but you can record more channels and the voice option is useful. (We also got a shiny new dish to replace the rusty effort that had been up there for the best part of twenty years).

Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers
  • After a lot of discussion with different people at Sky and being told a wide variety of prices ( £46 to &51)  I have finally settled on paying £39 per month ( plus one off £10 admin charge) , 18 month deal, for sky q box, sky signature, sky sports, sky cinema, Netflix (2 logins at any one time) and HD. As an 8 year long VIP I get 4 sky go logins.
Didn’t want Cinema but taking it off would have cost more. To get best deal I had cancelled and agreed price on final day of notice.
