Using my mobile phone in the usa
I will be travelling to the United States later this year. My UK provider, O2 tell me that my my mobile phone, a Motorola Mota G(8), is not compatible with the American mobile networks. However, at the same time they seem to want me to purchase a "bolt-on" for £6 per day and they say I can use this in the States. I am now…

Lebara SIM deal requires turning off adblocker
I purchased the recent SIM deal with Lebara - which included a £40 voucher. However, in an email received after the purchase regarding the voucher, in the T&C, it says the voucher will be sent up to 180 days after purchse, and "If you use adblocking software, a VPN, or have cookies disabled on your device, the sale may not…

VirginMedia > O2: New App?
I’m about to be switched from VM to O2 and have been wondering whether I need to replace my VM app (for billing, account info, etc.) with an O2 one. I’m guessing not as I haven’t seen any advice about this in any of my emails from VM, but I’m just wondering whether anybody knows for sure. Thanks.

First time PAC
I'm going to do my first ever port, and so don't know what preparations I will have to do. Do the three main apps (Contacts, Messages, and Phone) have data on the SIM? If so, what do I need to do in order to keep the information? I can see that Contacts has an Export option, but what about the other two apps?

UK SIM to use abroad
Hi My son has now moved to Sweden (from the UK) for work. He currently has a Smarty SIM on a rolling monthly contract (SIM only). He gets 100GB of data in the UK and this is limited to 12GB in Sweden. He can't make 'international' calls using that SIM unless he has some credit on the SIM - it doesn't come out of any…

Celebrating the small wins - I followed the MSE recommendation and saved!
Hi - Just sharing a small win I made last week, after following MSE advice on mobile phone contracts and SIMs. My long-term contract with Tesco Mobile expired a few months ago. Inertia had set-in and I did nothing about upgrading or shopping around. Then I saw the MSE tips and recommendations, and did some easy research of…

O2 reallocated my active PAYG phone number
I switched from contract to PAYG last October. All has been fine up until Saturday when my network access suddenly dropped. I called O2 from another phone on Sunday, only to be told my number was not my number and that it now belonged to a new contract customer who signed up on Saturday. I was actively using my phone up…

Hi, with 3G network being phased out in the near future, how do I find out if my phone works on 4G? I found some info online, but my phone's menu is different and the way described doesn't work. The info I found is: On Android smartphones, go to settings > Network settings > mobile network. It should give you a dropdown…

I am seeing a couple of niggles as part of my Virgin Mobile pay monthly transition to O2. I was moved over yesterday overnight (as expected). Lebara porting
Porting from Plusnet mobile to Lebara was supposed to take place on 30th May 2023. It's now 3 days later and despite several live chats with Lebara still not receiving incoming calls. Everytime I live chatted with an agent I have received the same stock answer; wait 24 hours. I attempted to phone the 2 helpline numbers but…

Lycamobile changing from being an O2 MVNO to an EE MVNO?
There have been lots of reports of Lycamobile customers now finding they have been migrated from using the O2 signal to using the EE signal. I can’t find anything about this other than a cryptic statement that Lyca are changing their network this week. Their website still says O2. So what’s going on? Normally there would…
