A54 - Problem answering calls

I'm having a problem answering calls on my fairly new A54. It was working OK last week.

Calls from normal phones seem alrught. The diffuculty is with 'switchboard' calls, eg from GP and hospitals.

I answer the call and say hello. Nobody replies, but the timer for the call us engaged and ticking.

Then I have to press the red phone icon to end the call, ir the call just cuts off. Sometimes the caller has left a voicemail message.

As I'm getting a number of really important calls at the moment I need to fix this.

I did find instructions to get the volume up button to answer, and this worked for 34 seconds this morning then cut me off.

Can anyone help?

Make sure this is switched off (mine is on) as this may stop withheld/private calls. 

Also if you have a spare or borrowed phone maybe try your sim card in that to confirm if it is a phone or settings issue.

It's not witheld or private as the name comes up on the screen when they phone.
