Ghost SMS Text on Android Phone bill

Hi,

Does Android (12) need to send SMS behind the scenes (not viewable in msg app) ??

Oddly, I’ve been deducted for a standard text on my dashboard, but no sms history on handset.

My account is set-up by default to disallow chargeable premium content, so hopefully that would prevent some potential scams.

I never opted in for RCS though my Android Phone had turned on RCS chats (WiFi or data when avail)
somehow!
Have turned off now.

I read (MSE) it via Google (didn’t really know what RCS was) and suspicious replies on the number search.

Not sure why you turned it off. It will save you money as there's no danger of being charged for an MMS and its more secure?
