New suppliers (moving house) rather than switching
Hi all, I've browsed a fair few threads, but it seems to mainly be (understandably) about switching rather than setting up brand new suppliers. I've just moved into a flat on my own, and the utilities at the old place were all in my ex-partner's name, so I have a clean slate to choose at present. Is there a bit of the site…

Who to switch to and when?
Hi all, I'm looking for some advice and thought this would be a good place to start My fixed price tariff with NPower comes to an end 31/07/11 but I have to stay with them until 25/08/11 to receive my (annually paid) DD discounts. Leave British Gas?
Hi, 18 months ago I moved to British Gas because they were the cheapest provider according to the comparison sites. Anyway, I've seen the headlines recently about BG increasing their prices 20%. So, I went back to the Comparison site provider Energylinx and crunched the numbers again. Obviously, BG are no longer top of the…

Would really appreciate some help - all this utility switching and comparing is confusing me. I'm currently provided electricity by Scottish Power who say their prices are definitely increasing on Aug 1st. My monthly DD will increase from £46 to £54 on the standard tariff I'm on. If I go capped with Scottish Power it'll…

Department of Energy and Climate Change projection
"Their (the IFS) central scenario (published in 2010) is that electricity prices will increase by around 15%, and that gas prices will increase by around 20%, in real terms between 2010 and 2015." Well it has already started happening but read the recent IFS, Institute of Financial Studies, press release here…

I Switched Yesterday Before New Advice To Stick
Hi All, First post so please treat me gently. Earlier this week I got an email from British Gas who I have been using for years for both gas and electricity. Alarmed at the 18%+ hike, I went to MSE site and used energysavinghelpline.com to switch to E.ON SaveOnline 8 (Dual Fuel). Weird because I only just moved to a…

Right to Switch
Hi, Im currently with Scottish Power and have been told that due to the big price rise I can raise a 'Right to Switch' enabling me to leave without paying any cancellation fees, as it starts within 2 or 3 weeks.
