Electricity Company - Stick or Move??
Would really appreciate some help - all this utility switching and comparing is confusing me.
I'm currently provided electricity by Scottish Power who say their prices are definitely increasing on Aug 1st. My monthly DD will increase from £46 to £54 on the standard tariff I'm on. If I go capped with Scottish Power it'll increase to £58 til 2014 and if I go fixed it'll increase to £56 til 2015.
I did a price comparison and a cheaper option appeared where I'll be saving £156 a year on a fixed contract but it's only fixed until July 31st 2012.
Will electric prices keep rising after a year??
So here's my dilemma: do I stick with what I have or switch to a fixed/capped with the company I'm currently with for 3/4 years or do I switch to the cheaper company where the fixed rate only lasts a year??
