Octopus Go (not Intelligent)
As far as I can see Octopus Go just uses fixed times of day to switch rates. Does anyone know if it records usage in two registers, like E7? I can't do anything until our meter's fixed, which I hope will be tomorrow. I'm wondering if I should play safe with a tariff that won't completely fail if the smart meter comms play…

Best Way to Avoid Getting a Smart Meter with E.ON Next
I've been with E.ON Next for many years and they've been trying to get me onto a smart meter since 2019. They've stepped up their campaign this week and are constantly calling me and writing to me, claiming that my current meter needs replacing. This is not true as it works perfectly. There is no way I'll ever have a smart…

Outgoing Octopus, Fixed (export tariff) - missing entire days
Lately I’ve started noticing the occasional day when the Octopus website is showing the amount exported as zero - even though that simply can’t be right. Our electricity consumption is reasonably static, not varying terribly much from day to day, and the total daily generation has been around the 20kWh mark. Most of the…

Confused advice please?
Have attepmted to get some clarity regarding best options for energy and have tied myself in knots attempting to resolve. Basics are im coming to end of my 12 m fixed gas with octopus. Options from them do nothing go to flexible eqautes to £840 for year or 12m fixed eqautes to £741 for year. I have an EV which is why I…

EV tariff or not
I don't have an EV, but thinking of getting one. If I get a home charger put in, I could switch to an EV tariff. My current tariff is at 21p a unit. The EV one means I could charge at night for 6p, but, all my other usage would be at 29p. I wouldn't be doing massive mileage, so I imagine not charging very often, and…

Octopus dual MPAN refund
Seems Octopus are now automatically giving the dual MPAN refunds! I'd already accepted a goodwill gesture that was nowhere near the actual costs.

Ev low mileage
Hi this is really hard to work out. I do 2500 miles a year so charge a out every 3 week's to 80%. I am currently on fixed tariff of 24.28p per kWh and 64.87 st charge. I use 1361 per annum. How do I work out if it's worth changing to IOG. They are asking for 30.17p per kWh and standing charge 67.83. I having done anything…

Octopus "Reversed Account Charge"
I've just had an email from Octopus charging me for electricity apparently used in 2003 as a "reversed account charge". There are about half a dozen "revised" charges from 2023 which result in my account balance going about £400 into minus. Is an energy provider allowed to trawl back several years to change bills and make…

Energy Club and E7 TOU Tariff
I seem to remember (?) that energy club previously asked what your % E7 usage was rather than just take a total for the year with no regard for TOU tariff use, which seems to be the case now. Is there a part of the calculator I am missing, as the rate it gives seems to have no bearing on my current costs (and unit rates).…

We have recently purchased a new build house with 8 solar panels. We are currently with Ovo energy at the new house and with Octopus energy at our holiday home which also has an EV charger. UKPN offering free single phase upgrade but digging same holes for 3 phase is chargeable?
We're in a 1905 mid-terrace with the original supply cable from the street. With an ASHP, EV charger, 1 or two inverters and batteries, induction hob and 2x ovens going in, we needed to upgrade from 60A to 100A. Our supply cable was insufficient for 100A so we're booked in for a single phase supply upgrade which would be…

Being Charged £5500 from Electricity Company! Help!
Hi Guys I moved to a new house in August 2024. The energy supplier at this property was Positive Energy (PE). As soon as I moved in, I contacted British Gas, who supplied my previous home, and requested a switch to them. However, they told me that PE had rejected the transfer. When I contacted PE, they said the previous…
