Energy switching date (E-On to Fuse)
Previously when switching suppliers, I’ve just arranged for it to happen ASAP. However, I’ve been on a great fixed term with E-On that runs to the 30th September this year.
I’m doing the dance again now to see what reasonable fixes to jump on, and there is the Fuse Aug 18m v3 which suits me perfectly as a quite low fuel user. The standing charges make it the cheapest tariff in all comparisons I run.
I’ve triggered the switch but notice now that I can set a switch date up to 4 weeks ahead if I so wish. But my question is, if I choose the latest date possible, is there a danger that Fuse will have pulled the tariff and no longer offer it me?

Yeah I applied, accepted, but they don’t give you a chance to change the supply date when applying. There’s just a timer when I log into the Fuse app counting down to when they will start (18th August). It’s only after I signed up then it appears I can change the supply date right up to the 13th September.
A bit unclear and to be fair for the sake of paying probably an extra couple of quid over what I’m paying now with E-On, I’ll probably just stick with the first available switch date of 18th August.0 -
I switched through Uswitch to get £40 cashback so it didn’t offer me the choice of supply date when applying. I can change it now though if I wish but just wasn’t sure if it would keep the tariff I signed up to.
Like I say, no problem really. Looking forward to a new supplier and the option of variable DDs after years of being with E-On and forever jumping to the best new tariff with them penalty free.1 -

E-On have VDD as payment option, Fuse have been known to charge reduced exit fee for internal transfer from fixed rate.

Sorry, Quidco compare energy, not Uswitch
