Tariffs for EV and solar (no gas)
Hi All, I've just got myself an EV and home charger port and will be getting a heat pump and solar panels installed later this month. I have an induction cooker and I'm pretty sure I wont have anything that relies on gas by the end of this month. Can I do away with a gas tariff entirely and lose the standing charge? Also,…

BG & OVO
Hi my couin had a caller round who persuaded her to move to BG from OVO & Said she would save £20 to£40 per month. Then had a follow up call from someone who said they were from BG & Told her that BG owned Ovo anyway,I have not heard this but would like to know if this is true. I am a bit concerned ,Thanks.

British Gas - early exit fees
I’m currently on an EV tariff with BG which expires on 27 November. My account is £2900 in credit as they haven’t billed me since June 2024! I have contacted them multiple times to request a bill but still this hasn’t been generated. They even put my monthly payment us from £225 to £440 because the credit balance hasn’t…

Winter Fuel
Bearing in mind it is September 7th today, I note that if people want to opt out of the WFP if they are on over £35,000 they need to opt out by 14 September or 12 September, yet people won’t be receiving a letter until October or November. If I had not searched I would not have known, has it been posted everywhere, why…

Changing supplier for gas/electric
I'm totally confused. Ive stuck with the same supplier for the last 5 years partly because of familiarity and ease. Would just like some advice please. At the moment I am with Utilita and have been fairly happy. I pay monthly and like to be able to see what I have used each day. However now they are changing the tariffs…

Reading Atlas Mk10D Multirate Meter
I'm trying to help an outfit review their electricity cost, tariff etc. It's a three phase supply with an EDMI Atlas Mk10D meter. They're being billed by SSE on a dual rate, and every single reading on their bills is estimated. So an early step would be to get real meter readings to them. The problem is I can't make sense…

Half hourly data settlement
Hi, got an email from Eon saying they are introducing 'half hourly data settlement'. Anybody know about this change? seems to be industry wide. The only thing i care about is will this cost more for me. Thanks.

My tariff not shown
I have just chosen a new deal with Eon and the tariff I am on (Next Secure Fixed 12M V47) is not shown in the drop down menu on the Cheap Energy Club webpage. How do I choose this to update my status?

Shared electric meter and six sets of standing charges
Hi all, I live in a flat managed by a Managing Agent in Scotland. The Managing Agent is probably not the best but is far from the worst. They are irresponsive and operate a large number of properties and the service offered is in my view just not very good. Each block of my development has six flats and the fees and…

Have EV, solar panels, battery and heat pump: Which Octopus tariff is best?
Over the past several years, I have installed a bunch of solar panels, a battery and a heat pump. I also have an electric vehicle. I am on Octopus, but I can't figure out what is the best tariff for me. I'd appreciate pearls of wisdom from the readers of this forum.

Update to Cheap Energy Club site
There seems to be something wrong here? I just had a look and there were various offers beating my current deal energy deal. But, on closer examination, it turned out that annual savings amounts were at odds with the annual cost?

Help please; SSE energy account never moved to OVO and I’ve not had an energy bill in over 2 years.
Okay so this is my situation and I wanted to start a thread because I seriously don’t know what to do, and I don’t know who to talk to about this (I’ve literally not told anyone). I am also curious whether other people have had this issue. I moved into my current rental property in Jan 23 and I set up a dual fuel account…

Energy supply from Smartest Energy
I'm having extreme difficulty in getting Smartest Energy to accept our meter readings. We are now on month 10 and we are still being sent invoices for estimated readings. Tread very carefully if you are thinking about getting your energy from this company!!!

Ovo Direct Debit hike (They tried)
Every 3 months Ovo sends me an email saying they are going to massively increase my Direct Debit. Every 3 months I ring them up and after arguing with them I get them to set my Direct Debit amount to what I want it to be according to my budget. For years I've run a spreadsheet of Income & Expenditure so I know exactly…

Cavity wall insulation and EPCs
I recently moved house into an end of terrace built in 1986, standard brick construction. The EPC said it needed to have cavity wall insulation. I had someone come and check it. He drilled a hole and pulled out some insulation. It looked like glass wool to me. He then gave me a quote for removing all the old insulation and…
