Eon 'Fixed' vs 'Secure Fixed' Tariffs?
I'm new here, so please be gentle :-)
I have searched, but couldn't find an answer - hopefully someone here can tell me. My current Eon tariff is about to end so I'm looking at options. If I were to stay with Eon, I'd probably go for the 'Next Fixed 12m v150' or the 'Next Secure Fixed 12m v88'. Eon's estimated monthly cost figures for these are within a few pence of each other, but otherwise they seem exactly the same! What's the difference between 'Fixed' and 'Secure Fixed' tariffs?
Thanks

Welcome to the forum!
What's the difference between 'Fixed' and 'Secure Fixed' tariffs?
I think the Secure version has qualifying criteria that the ordinary Fixed doesn't. I'm not currently an E.ON Next customer and if I check for switching tariffs I am offered the normal Fixed tariff but not the Secure version.
I would guess it's either a loyalty tariff or one for households in some sort of qualifying group.

My daughter is a customer and is not being offered Secure.
The same question has been asked previously on the Eon Community and even the Eon reps couldn't come up with an answer.
Unless there is something in the small print there will be no difference.

OK, thanks both. Sounds like it doesn't make a lot of odds, so I can choose the (*very* slightly!) cheaper one. But still need to look into other suppliers as well.
Thanks again

If you have a smart meter you may want to check out their Eon Next Smart tariff. It’s fixed for a year but has no exit fees. As long as you don’t use a lot of electricity between 4-7pm it usually works out 10% or so cheaper than the other tariffs you mention. You will still need to choose another tariff for your gas if you have it.
