Paypal - pay in 3 / 12 month installments
Recently had a couple of purchases via paypal (both interest free) using Pay in 3 and 12 monthly instalments. But the D/D hasn't changed to take these into account - it's still at the minimum amount and I can't see an option to change it to take the appropriate amounts (bar manually working it out or manual paying stuff).…

Barclays Account Closed.
I have found out today Barclays have closed my account. All it states in the letter I have recieved from them is that it is was as a result of a review and in line with my terms and conditions. I am not worried that my other accounts with other banks will close when I have done nothing wrong. What could have lead to the…

Orientation of new style cards
Is anyone else annoyed about the lack of consistency orientation of the new style debit and credit cards? I have cards with the chip in all possible locations! To be fair the cards rarely see daylight - all are on my phone.

Shawbrook cannot verify their own accounts?
I have just opened a fixed rate bond with Shawbrook and tried to transfer money from my Easy Access account with them to the new bond. I can't because they say they cannot verify this account electronically, so I must sign up to open banking to allow access to this account so they can verify I am the account holder. Is…

New Feature in Bank of Scotland App
Just receive the PIN for my new card and the letter with it includes this. I wonder how many proof readers it got through before being printed but at least if I want the smell of bread in the morning I only need to open the BoS app now!

Lloyds banking app
I recently registered with Lloyds in order to get the switching incentive. Today I received my activation code by post which I have entered when prompted on the app. The next stage step on the app is to 'create memorable information' as an extra layer of security. It has 2 fields where I need to set my memorable word. You…

Hello I’ve had a Chase bank account for one year now and I’ve been banking for at least 40 years and never had this problem - on Thursday last week for no apparent reason my bank account was frozen or at least they said it was ‘under review’ this was after I downloaded and refreshed the new software on the app and…

they are willing to issue cheques on his name.…

Nationwide Switch Experience
I recently switched two accounts from TSB to Nationwide and, unfortunately, did not qualify for any of the switch payments. The reason given was that I failed to meet the timeframe by a couple of days. I completed the documentation online and believed I had fulfilled the criteria, but obviously, I had not. Despite being a…

Random thought the other day - I've never had more than £2300 in my bank account
I had a fairly random thought the other day that I've never had more than £2,300 in my bank account ever. Some people would spend that on a foreign holiday without a second thought! I've worked all my life and am now in my early sixties. I'm now self-employed and earning now quite a bit less than when I was last working…

HSBC EX PAT FROZEN ACCOUNT
Dear Readers I am a barrister and am therefore not allowed to hold client money. All my fees are anyway subject to voluntary KYC checks. I also have a large inheritance from a very reputable London firm of solicitors who were my late mother's executors. My fees are paid into a current account and my inheritance into a…
