Website/app to track my accounts

Hi lovelies

I can see a few threads on my question but quite old now. I apologise in advance for the silly question.

Q - is there a website/app where I can enter all my bank & building society accounts to keep track? Or even a SIMPLE spreadsheet I can d/l & change in real time?

I'm not bothered about a budgeting tool or stuff, just to keep track

I'm OK at IT but not brilliant.

I use banking apps on my mobile but prefer to use my tablet or laptop. Must be SIMPLE to use please.

Thank you in advance 😊

There's some mileage in the open-banking API (where you can see other provider accounts) but there are lots that don't support it, e.g. Virgin Money, Nationwide, Halifax, Coventry, Monzo, etc.

Probably the simplest option is to create a spreadsheet in excel online (you don't even need an office subscription) or google sheets. You can also view this on mobile or whatever.

Column A put the provider name
Column B put the account name
    Column C put the balance

Then maybe in the first cell of column D put =SUM(C:C) to show the total.

(I probably wouldn't save banking details for security reasons, though account and sort isn't very high risk).
    Know what you don't

I been using AceMoney for 12 years. A one off payment but updates for life. You can import many formats (.csv, .xml etc) though I don't use that. It might suit you

I use the android app Snoop to view all my current accounts and most bank savings accounts transaction lists. A summary screen shows all balances on one screen.

They currently list 63 financial institutions using OpenBanking API that they can connect to. From their list, all the providers you mentioned apart from Coventry do support OpenBanking, including all 3 providers under the VM name.

Because banks grant access to the API at their discretion, the particular money management organisation whose software you chose may not have been authorised to connect... yet. Ironic that the first online bank, Smile, was the last of my accounts to implement OB.

    Thanks for reply Exodi

I have attempted a spreadsheet of sorts but am useless at it ! I'll have another go

Some of ny accounts are with Virgin & nationwide. I wonder which apps do not support these companies?

Virgin have a hotch potch of systems, not all of which are enabled for Open Banking and are consequently not covered by the apps.

Unless you have some particular requirement that existing software doesn't handle then I'd suggest trying to create your own spreadsheet is a waste of your time. Ace Money has already been suggested, I've been a user of MS Money for even longer than ColdIron has been using Ace, and it's free. Microsoft stopped developing it years ago but it's worked on every version of Windows that I've had from XP to 11.
My version is Money Plus Deluxe 17.0.120.3817, a recent thread suggests this link to download it, scroll down to UK Versions and pick Microsoft Money 2005.

I'd do it manually in excel as suggested, you can probably make something up in chatgpt and it'll create the template for you. Then you just need to update balance manually which I only do every 3-6 months or whenever I go to add/remove account.

    Nationwide does support Open Banking:
    So does Halifax:

I've had it for over 20 years  and also recommend it.

Also worth considering is MoneyManager Ex, which is free. It didn't exist when I wanted a money management program, but I suspect that this is what I'd go for if I was doing so now.
