You can simply enter a transaction for the interest payment. You record it with a category of your choice ("taxable interest", "tax free interest" etc), to distinguish it from your salary, pension etc income. You can then create a report for just the category, for all your accounts or some, for the current or a previous tax year, for any time period you like, for all or some of your providers. Very handy for producing a list of taxable interest for HMRC at a moment's notice - provided of course you have diligently recorded your interest payments as they happened. You also know at any point in time how you are doing against your 0% taxable interest allowance.

Doh! For all that I've been using AceMoney for many years, I don't make a lot of use of the reporting functionality, and it never occurred to me to use it for this purpose. Instead, I've been recording my taxable interest in a separate spreadsheet for many years. Obviously, this means that I've been duplicating entries unnecessarily.

I've been recording all interest in a single category in AceMoney, but it'll be a simple matter to create separate "Taxable" and "Tax Exempt" subcategories in future. I'll be doing it that way from 6 April.

That's a really helpful suggestion. Thank you.
