Depositing foreign currency cheques
Many UK banks are withdrawing the facility to deposit foreign currency cheques (drawn on a non-UK bank). Is anyone aware of a UK bank that still accepts foreign cheques? I'm ok with the idea of opening a foreign currency account - HK$ and US$.

Serial switchers, what to do with left over login details?
Having done a number of switches to take advantage of offers I'm now left with several banking apps where I can log in but there are no accounts as they've been switched over. How can Nationwide's Fairer Payment be interest?
Interest surely requires a Capital Sum, a Rate of Interest and a Period of Time. None of which apply. Discuss. (I've kept this separate as the discussion on the main thread is going the usual way)

My Virgin Money accounts can’t be verified!
This has happened with other accounts, but as it’s a bigger bank i wanted to make sure. I’ve got new Current, Savings and ISA accounts with Virgin Money, and trying to pay into any of them directly from my Starling account, it can’t verify my name on my account. I know this happens with some banks, just wanted to see if…

Anyone else been caught out by HSBC overdraft support?
Just wondering if anyone else has been caught out by this/managed to resolve it. I got the temporary overdraft support for 12 months which was 0% interest on overdrafts up to £500. I am currently at this level on both accounts. On 19th Feb and again on 25th March I was notified that this support would come to an end on 8th…

Which account - Edge or Edge Up?
We're looking at switching our bank account to one of the following Santander accounts: The Edge account doesn't pay any interest on account balance but you can have a linked savings account at 7% on balances up to £4000. As there's two of us, this could be £8000. The Edge Up account pays 3.5% interest on any account…

Virgin M Plus Current Account reducing to 1% from August
Wow, 2% was great when they first started this account but it's a pretty poor rate in today's environment, and now they're going to reduce it to 1% in a couple of months. From 1 August 2024 we will be reducing our M Plus Current Account rates from 2.02% AER (2.00% gross per annum) to 1.00% (AER gross per annum) on balances…
