HUMAX AURA FVP-4KGTR has gone bonkers :-(
Hi. This is a second-user recorder, so no warranty. Working superbly, until today it did this: No sound, whether there is a picture or not. Terrestrial (FreeviewPlay) guide shows up correctly, but selecting a channel just gives a black screen. iPlayers work - to provide an image, but no sound. I've reset it, but no…

Why is ITVX adverts in Single/Lousy Definition?
Why is ITVX adverts in Single/Lousy Definition? Also the main interface and the segways. The streams are all in high definition but I can't figure out why they stream all adverts in Lowwwwww Def, and the irony being that the adverts are the ones paying for the platform. As an advertiser I simply wouldn't pay for an advert…

SKY TV Underhand tactics
Hi I'll try to cut this short. I called sky to cancel TNT sports which I'd switched on to watch the Australian open and my upgrade to Netflix no adds as we wanted to load up devices for travelling. I was offered 24 months free sky sports. I don't actually watch much sports except tennis so I said what have I got to lose?…

MSE News: Got Sky TV? Why you still can't cancel penalty-free if it hikes your price mid-contract
If you've got Sky TV, Sky can put your price up during your two-year contract without telling you what rises to expect before you sign up AND without letting you leave penalty-free. Thought this kind of thing was supposed to be banned? So did we. But our investigation can now reveal that Sky is exploiting a surprising gap…

Active line switch from Sky to Virgin
I'm in the process of switching my broadband provider from Sky to Virgin. When completing the online order with Virgin they gave me the option of them telling my current provider (Sky)about the switch. Sky Stream vs Sky Q
Hello, I have always had Sky Q and have like the ability to pre-record TV and fast forward adverts, etc. I understand Sky now do Sky Streaming service and sounds as though they are trying to encourage customers away from Sky Q. Although I note you can still request Sky Q over the phone. Sky Stream is £15 vs £35.50 for my…

Prime Video Purchase Options?? So I just noticed this week that You Tube offer movies either free with ads or £3.50 without ads, then, maybe by coincidence, I'm watching a movie tonight "Arrival" Sci-Fi on Prime video free with ads. I brought the "other ways to purchase", which included: Rent for £3.50 (which I assume…

Backdated TV licence refunds for over 75's
I was unaware of the free TV linces for over 75's and am now 78. They are refusing to backdate 3 years worth of overpayment. Only the few months worth of this year when I applied.. When I suggested going to small claims, the answer was we will fully defend it and you will be liable for full costs. I was also informed that…

Humax Aura PVR problems?
The otherwise excellent Humax Aura PVR is notoriously buggy, the most common of which is probably the frequent unprompted rebooting. I’m now finding that it won’t record anything but BBC on SD channels - though that doesn’t seem to be the case with HD. Anyone else noticed this? Started a few days ago.

TV Package and Installation - help!
Hi all, I’ve just bought a house and I’m struggling to work out the best way to get Sky Sports and TNT Sports without ugly cabling everywhere. The TV has to go on an internal living-room wall, roughly in the middle of the downstairs. That’s where the issue starts: Sky Q / satellite: The dish would need to be on the back…
