Sky Stream vs Sky Q
Hello,
I have always had Sky Q and have like the ability to pre-record TV and fast forward adverts, etc.
I understand Sky now do Sky Streaming service and sounds as though they are trying to encourage customers away from Sky Q. Although I note you can still request Sky Q over the phone.
Sky Stream is £15 vs £35.50 for my Sky Q. Sky Stream also comes with Netflix (Ads version).
Has anyone like me enjoyed Sky Q and moved over to Sky Stream and is happy with it? Any annoyances?
Any help appreciated.
Thanks
Frank

No recording on Sky Stream if that's a deal breaker for you.
Sky Q comes with Netflix as well.

Friend of mine changed over to Stream., Regretted the decision and is trying to move back. Found Stream to be clunky and unable to record. There are many stations you have to watch live, no recording.
Long term Sky has plans to be Stream only, which is not good in my opinion
Stick with Q as long as you can!

I can also say stay with Q for as long as you can.
I stayed at a mates home last weekend and as mentioned quite a few channel's are live only and no catch up and for live sport there is a huge delay compared to sat Q.
His neighbour has Q and we set up the TVs by the window on each house and when the team scored on the Stream the ball was still in the other half and then 30 or so secs they scored.

Thanks that's really helpful!

I'm tempted to get Martin's Sky Stream offer, as we already pay for Now TV, Netflix and Disney+ separately:
However. As well as the main tv, we also watch these services on our phones and the family tablet.
Maybe I'm missing something, but can we only watch Sky Stream on the family tv? Or can we also watch on devices using a Sky Stream app or the existing NowTV/Netflix/Disney+ apps?
We can cope with ads and no recording, but playing on devices is a deal breaker!

Sky Stream for £15 doesn't give you Sky Max (where some of the new programmes come out on).
I ordered it last from the shop on impulse when out shopping; they told me it included all the new programme releasess, but when I got home it didn't, so I rejected it.
I picked up Now TV for £3.99/month + £9.99 for Ultra HD, which includes Sky Max; they also messaged me to tell me they've reduced the price of the Ultra HD option.
I used to have Sky Q, but cancelled because of the price hikes; the record facility was its main plus.
I replaced it with a Freesat recording box, which was a straight swap for the Sky Q one; its interface is a little more clunky that Sky's, but its pretty good.
The other plus with Sky Q and Freesat is that the boxes can receive via satellite and internet (and terrestrial), so you're not stymied if there's a network outage just when you want to watch something.

Sky Go
Access all the channels available on Sky Go while you're waiting for your Sky Stream puck. Once you're up and running, you'll only be able to watch the channels available in line with your TV package.
With Sky Go you can stream live, on demand and catch up content* from Sky on your phone, tablet, laptop or computer with the Sky Go app. Watch around your home or while you’re out and about at no extra cost to your TV subscription.
Stream on two devices at the same time and download your favourite shows and movies over WiFi before you leave home to watch offline.
And if you’ve got the Whole Home monthly subscription, you can stream on four devices at the same time with Sky Go and watch Sky TV on your games console by downloading TV from Sky.
Any Sky Stream pucks don’t count as one of your Sky Go devices.
You won’t be entitled to stream Sky outside the UK using Sky Go, but you can download your favourite shows and movies over WiFi before you leave home to watch offline while you’re abroad. Read more in our Viewing Sky abroad guide.
Switching from Sky Q? With Sky Stream, you won’t be able to watch programmes from your Playlist or pause and carry on, on the go, like you can with a Sky Q box. You’ll need to download from the Sky Go app instead.
*Content depends on your Sky TV subscription

Thanks for the reply on this. Having read all that, I guess the deal is actually better described as a Sky TV subscription that plays on Sky Go for mobile devices and Sky Stream puck for the tv.
I'll sign up for it this weekend, and cancel all the individual subs
