I've got Sky Ultimate. Yes, you can opt out of adverts but it isn't perfect. For sky channels the adverts come on but a button appears saying SKIP ADVERTS and it skips them.

Some apps, like ITVx, you don't get a button and have to manualy skip the adverts yourself (you can skip a minute at time etc or just fast forward like a normal PVR). It isn't ideal to be honest, and obviously you can't skip the adverts if you are watching live TV.

When I signed up in December 2025 and logged into the sky website and looked at "my products" I got an option to have ad-skipping and UHD free for four months. From reading online forums, that still seems to be available. After the trial finishes it is £6 a month for the ad skipping.
