I thought my Fix was supposed to get cheaper on 1st April 2026!
On MSE: "Average annual energy bills will fall by 6.7% on 1 April for those on standard price-capped tariffs (most households) but unprecedentedly, the prices of fixed tariffs will also drop in April." On EoNnext website: "Fixed tariff customers will remain at the prices they agreed when they took their contract out."

Gas meter no longer communicating after move to BG
Hi all, Quick Q - my gas meter has stopped communicating since I switched to British Gas. This includes to BG itself but also to Bright and Loop apps. All comms stopped on the 27th Feb when the switch took place. I thought with Bright especially the readings were completely separate from the supplier ones. Any ideas what…

Replacing radiators
Could someone please advise on replacing radiators? I inherited my house a couple of years ago and had to replace the boiler when we moved in. At the same time, the gas engineer fitted new thermostats onto the old radiators, but did not mention changing them, despite them being very old (I now know this was not great, but…

Solar panels, FIT payments, MINFO tool, Suppliers Web???
My Solar panels were installed in October 2011. Since that time I have sent my meter readings every 90 days to Scottish Power and have received payment directly into my bank account. I recently switched banks and though almost everything went smoothly, the process involved in getting Scottish Power to recognise the new…

Smart meter gas readings
Every month or so I manually transcribe my daily meter readings as shown on the Octopus website to my local spreadsheet so that I can keep an eye on how my energy use is going. We were away over new year and so I didn't get round to this until mid January when I noted the figures up until 10 Jan. Last week I thought I…

OVO Direct Debit Increase
I'm in credit with my OVO account but they have suggested my direct debit is increased from £324pm to £474pm. The reason they have given is that they now insist that you are 1 month payment in credit by 31st March (last day of the financial year hmmmm). Im trying to clarify if they can enforce this under fear i.e. they…

Octopus - Lack of information
Using a spreadsheet, I like to keep track of my energy costs, both historical actuals and future predictions - this means I need actual rates for standing charge and unit rates well in advance. Despite searching their website, Octopus have no information about how fixed rates will change from 1st April due to the policy…

Energy providers competent in managing 3-phase supplies?
Dear Forum We live in a semi-rural area without mains gas. Our house is heated by an oil-fired boiler and we have a 3-phase electricity supply. In September 2023 SSE sold their domestic supply accounts to OVO Energy and then our problems began. With SSE, we were able to post all three meter readings onto their customer…

Warm Home Discount mess
I switched from Tomato before being moved to British Gas under the solr scheme. I received a letter stating I was eligible for a warm home discount of £150 paid to my supplier on 24th Aug '25 (Tomato). I switched to Fuse myself straight from Tomato. I have spoken to Fuse and British Gas asking who is liable to pay the WHD,…

New Price Cap 1 April 2026 Octopus Fixed
I'm on the Octopus Fixed Tariff until 3 June 2026, 24.08p per kWh, 47.28p per day and pay via DD £204 per month. No gas. I'm a bit confused as to what to do for the best. Do I just stick with it, until the tariff expires on 3 June or change to a new tariff, on 1 April. There is no penalty for changing tariffs.

Octopus wouldn't install a smart meter
I requested smart meters but when the installer visited he said he couldn't install a smart meter because there was a lack of space in the cupboard. We were told we would need to get cables moved to make room for the meter at our expense ( around £800) so we didn't pursue it. Our meter is old and needs to be replaced,. If…
