Free drainage guttering service
The houses, about 10, on my terrace deliver the rain that falls onto their roofs into my gutters (being the lowest house) and then it falls through pipes I must maintain into drains for which I am responsible. Should I charge United Utilities for this service and how?

Anyone had dealings withg Business Stream / Southern Water
For years we have been supplied by Southern Water without problem, the meter was read and the bills paid, circa £88 every 6 months. Last year we got a letter saying we would now be swapped over to Business Stream, when I queried that we didn't own or run a business they said it was because they service a mobile home and…

Student Flat Water Bill
I've been living in a student flat for about a year now and I'm moving out soon. At the start of the year my flatmate said we probably didn't need to worry about the water bill because he thought it was included in our rent for whatever reason. Regardless, I don't think it was. I checked the water meter, and it reads 1040.…

Do water meters expire?
Last year Severn Trent Water wanted to replace my existing Smart Meter on the grounds the meter was coming to the end of its life. Unfortunately, the date the contractor was available to install the new meter didn't tally with mine as I was away from home for several weeks at a time last year. So the meter was not changed…

New build - water meter not found
Hi, we moved into a new build last winter and on the moving day we were due to sign off the meter readings to transfer them from the developer to us. The problem came when the developer was unable to find our water meter, believing it to have been landscaped over so they told us that their onsite team would come and sort…

WC flush is useless & was using a lot more water.
Hi, hope i am in the right area. We had 3 new loo's in our bungalow fitted with water saving tanks with a 6lt flush & a quick 3lt flush. All of us found them just about totally useless. For a quick tinkle they are fine, but for a NO:2 we would 85% of the time have to flush twice, so we end up using 12lt's. After getting…
