in Water bills
I've moved into a new home in the last few months to discover my new water bill is now £195 a month.
South West Water say it's based on Rateable Value. I've asked for a meter and they're coming next week to take a look.
Neighbors say person before wasn't able to get one due to access.
My neighbours all pay less, around£109 less per month, un metered. I feel I'm being ripped off and there's nothing I can do.
I'm a widowed mother of 2 young children, working full-time to put food on the table and now I'm going to have to cut back and go without meals for myself just to pay my water.
I feel stupid as I should have researched it before I moved.
Any advice please?

If they can't fit a meter you will be offered an 'Assessed rate'.
Charges are here:
https://www.southwestwater.co.uk/frequently-asked-questions/meters/what-are-the-current-assessed-charge-prices/
With two young children you will be classed as multi - occupancy.
Worse case senario will be around £780 pa.
You need to check that surface water charges don't apply to save on the £7800 -
I've no advice but I'm also searching some some answers because I pay 250 for water and it is insane...0
