Thames Water/Greenredeem Rewards
I don't know if this is the right place, but I couldn't find anything else on the forum about this (admittedly I've been a lurker for a long time but haven't posted before so will probably get this wrong!). Thames Water sent me a flyer through the post advertising that because I'm on a smart water meter I can sign up to…

Water Meter
Apologies if this sounds totally naïve but we've only been in our first home since October 2017, before that we were living with parents. So when we moved in we set up an account with Essex & Suffolk Water and have recently received our first bill. I didn't even realise we had a water meter! I've just been on the question…

Over charged water bill
I live in a non-metered house (cannot have one fitted) and have just received my annual bill. It’s a 2 bed but noticed they (Southern Water) have been calculating it for a 4 bed house! We have lived here 3 years, and checking back, have always paid for a 4 bed! Simply; am I entitled to a refund for the last 3 years?

water saving
just moving into a new house where the previous owner had a water meter fitted, we cannot get it removed so need to find ways to save ( legally ) ie: not plumbing into next doors supply, we have decided to use water butts and filters and by collecting rain water can expect to collect enough for the garden, loo and washing…

20, live with mum,got a water bill, small rant too
Last month I received a water bill addressed to me of £167 from Thames Water, I'm 20, live with my mum and I'm not on the tenancy agreement as far as I know, my mum (shes a retired nurse, she's 65 this year, just if that provides any helpful info) just told me to ignore it as it was probably a mistake (silly I know),…

Leakage Test.
My latest water bill is a lot more expensive than previous bills so my water company has asked me to do a leakage test. My question is .... does the small cog in the middle of the meter still slightly spin ie. tick over even if you haven't used any water. My readings are (omitting the 0s) 5722 (red numbers between 3) taken…

Yorkshire Water
Just moved into my first home LS11 area of Leeds and received a bill for the year of £612.42 for a 3 bed Semi. 2 adults and 2 young kids. The bill just seems too high because at my parents it was just over £300 for 6 of us. Their house is 4 bed Mid terrace and around 5ish minutes from my house. Just wondering if this is…

Water meter has never worked - back billing
I've lived in a flat which my parents have owned (bought from new) for about 6 years, which I lived in while at University and have continued to live in since. My parents pay the bills. A couple of years ago I had a friend lodging with me but he's long since moved on. I recently noticed a letter addressed to him from the…

No Water Bill in Six years
Hi, I have been living in rented accomodation for the last six years and was under the impression that the water was paid by the landlord as its a block of flats. I recently recevied a letter addressed to the occupier asking for the move in date and giving the water bill as £530 for a one bedroom flat when I live alone. I…

Requested Water Meter on Moving but no Record of it, what do we do?
I am in an odd situation and was wondering if anyone has experienced anything similar. We have been paying £630 a year on our water bill even though there are only two of us living in our house. The estimate based on medium usage suggests it should be about half that amount. I understand from reading other forum posts that…

Water bill very high
Hi - can anyone help me? I've recently moved to a new property in Nottingham - 3 bedroom detached, 2 adults living here now. There is no water meter. The annual bill comes in at about £1200 which seems, to me, utterly bonkers. I've queried it with Severn Trent and all they say is "switch to a meter". I reckon switching…

No water bill in 18 months
Hello all, We have been in our rental for 18 months and have realised we have never had a water bill. My husband said something about our landlords saying we don’t pay for water and not to worry about it. It’s a big block of flats so could it be something that’s included in the service charge? There is nothing in our lease…

United Utilities - Wastewater Bill
Hi, I've just moved in to my new home in Manchester. Received a letter from United Utilities detailing the upcoming bills for the year as they are fixed (no meter).
